[3D Printing Real-World Test] " Wanhao UV Curing Chamber" Real-World Test and Unboxing Review!

Hey everyone! Another unboxing of new post-processing accessories is here! You may have noticed that 3D manufacturing has recently released a lot of related products. Besides CNC , laser cutting , and vacuum forming machines , post-processing accessories are definitely worth checking out. Among common 3D printing technologies, SLA (Stereolithography) produces a delicate and smooth finish that's irresistible, but compared to other technologies, it's more prone to brittleness and requires care to withstand impacts, necessitating UV irradiation for strengthening.

We'll be the first to use the WANHAO Boxman-1 UV curing oven to see how it performs after curing. (Further reading: Beginner's Guide - Comparison and Summary of 3 Common 3D Printing Technologies )

The outer box is carefully protected with foam, ensuring that the curing box and accessories remain intact. Inside the box is an English instruction manual. The operation is intuitive and simple, with accompanying illustrations. Combined with the touch screen in the upper right corner for direct selection, even a non-engineer like myself can use it easily.

Connect the power supply and place it on the base plate. In order to achieve a 360-degree irradiation effect, the platform material is also made of fully transparent glass. The curing box is equipped with a total of 4 UV LED light sources and a full mirror reflection design. The purpose is to allow the UV light to evenly and completely irradiate every corner of the 3D printed product.

The unboxing process is a bit too simple? That's right! This Wanhao UV curing chamber is that simple. It's almost like turning it on, plugging it in, and turning it on. Although we still recommend using it in a well-ventilated indoor environment, the fan on top of the curing chamber has an activated carbon filter inside, so there will be no chemical odor. The air intake at the back needs to be left with some space so that you don't push the machine against the wall.

When the 3D printed product is cured with UV light, you will see the UV LED lights inside the box light up. Please remember to turn off the UV lights before opening the box door. Since ultraviolet light is a type of electromagnetic radiation, you should try to avoid contact with your eyes and skin.

Next, we tested the effect of the 3D printed product before and after curing. We used a DWS XFAB 2500HD UV-curing 3D printer with 917 gray resin to print an ultra-thin bridging sample with a central thickness of 1mm. The left side shows the product before UV curing, and the right side shows the finished product after enhanced curing. We even invited Mr. Rhino to verify this!

Uncured 3D printed products are relatively soft, and when stepped on, they bend to a point close to the tabletop; while the cured product on the right firmly supports Mr. Rhino when stepped on, with only a slight bend, and its hardness and strength are greatly improved.

With the Wanhao UV curing box , 3D printed products made of photosensitive resin can be enhanced in a short time, increasing their hardness and durability. It's a high-quality yet affordable post-processing assistant, saving you from overtime and ensuring a smooth workflow. Do you have similar 3D printing needs?
