While SLS (Silicon-Laser Laser Sintering) 3D printing technology emerged in the mid-1980s, using high-power laser light to sinter powdered polymers into 3D models, SLS technology requires no support structure and can create prototypes with tensile strength and mechanical properties. However, due to long-term patent restrictions and high prices, it wasn't until 2014 that the Polish manufacturer Sinterit launched the Lisa desktop SLS 3D printer at an extremely low price point in this technology. Sinterit Lisa Pro is an evolution of Lisa , with key features including a larger molding volume, enabling the production of large parts up to 32 cm in diameter without requiring a support structure. Another significant feature is the new built-in nitrogen chamber, allowing the use of a wider range of materials. While the first-generation Lisa was limited to a few materials, the addition of this nitrogen chamber in Sinterit Lisa Pro allows for a broader selection of materials.
Sinterit Lisa Pro will be used in conjunction with a range of 3D printing materials, including chemically resistant Nylon PA12, flexa black , and TPU for rubber applications; while the upcoming Flexa Grey offers greater flexibility, and PA11 boasts excellent chemical and temperature resistance.
In addition to a larger build volume and nitrogen chamber, hardware and software have been improved. For example, the new Sinterit Studio 2018 software offers more automated setup and an improved user experience; users can prepare pre-press 3D models, arrange them within the build range, check designs, and monitor 3D printing status.
