You may have noticed that Sandima's equipment range is becoming increasingly diverse. In addition to 3D printers , they have also started to introduce new desktop equipment such as CNC and laser processing machines . Among them, the desktop vacuum forming machine Mayku FormBox is designed to be used with any household vacuum cleaner (under 2000W) and is very affordable, making it suitable for families, personal studios or small self-manufacturing factories.
Now let's unbox the recently arrived Mayku FormBox . First, take a look at its introductory video:
After opening the box, you will see the complete polystyrene packaging. After unpacking the polystyrene, in addition to the FormBox vacuum forming machine itself, there are many accessories tied together with straps and a black connecting tube. Now let me introduce them to you one by one!
Inside the cardboard box, you'll find a beginner's kit, materials information, and instructions, etc. Most notably, it also contains helpful little tools to make it easier for first-time users or testers.
The top of the image shows a series of molding molds. The top stepped prototype can be used as a phone holder or soap holder after being encased in a plastic shell. You can try it yourself. We will use the mysterious tetrahedron below to demonstrate for you later.
In addition to the instruction manual mentioned earlier, there are also free material sheets and plaster powder included, making it convenient for users who do not use 3D printing to create prototypes by casting.
Next is the part about connecting the vacuum cleaner. First, we borrowed a small vacuum cleaner and removed the nozzle from the front. Take out the black connecting tube we just used and connect one end to the round socket on the back of the Mayku FormBox . You should feel a little resistance when inserting the rubber stopper. Tightly inserting it will ensure a perfect vacuum forming effect.
Then, just as you might think, connect the other end of the connecting tube to the vacuum cleaner, and connect the vacuum cleaner plug to the socket hole on the back of the FormBox . After connecting the FormBox to power and turning on the vacuum cleaner, you can start testing!
First, remove the film from the material sheet , place it in the FormBox , and then place it on the heating tube above for heating. Once the required temperature is reached, the FormBox will issue a prompt. At this point, press the material sheet down, and the connected vacuum cleaner will automatically operate while pressing down to achieve a vacuum forming effect.
Our initial attempts were very successful. The material sheets perfectly covered the tetrahedron, and as seen in the video, different materials have different uses, such as making soaps, chocolates, food molds, etc. (Further reading: Craft Chocolate Specialty Store: No Need to Ask for Food Molds! )

Cut out this tetrahedron and place it on your phone to create a 3D "holographic projection." The 3D jellyfish we downloaded has a floating animation. It was a great success on our first unboxing, and everyone had a blast playing with it. You can try making one yourself!
