[3D Printing Applications] Kia Automotive Digital Training: How can 3D printing enhance interactive learning?

Mobedia is an international digital learning platform that uses the latest technologies such as VR, 3D models, interactive tools, and 3D printing to provide immersive learning experiences and content development. The team combines hardware and software design, including film, animation, and 3D modules, to create outstanding interactive digital learning experiences. Recently, they collaborated with Kia Motors in the UK to develop 3D printed experience kits and launched them in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of Kia Sportage.

The new Kia Sportage boasts a range of improvements, along with the latest exterior and interior design, new safety features and entertainment technologies, and a high-efficiency powertrain that meets future emissions standards, solidifying its position as one of the best-selling models in Europe.

The dealership team can gain a learning experience through this Kia online academy, which helps them to provide customers with more humanized marketing functions such as effective product demonstrations, test drives, and vehicle switching when selling cars.

To enhance engagement and understanding, these learning experiences include:

Interactive construction design allows users to build and understand external functions, which are fully compatible with the 3D printed model upon completion.

The video features a family involved in the New Sportage and 3D-printed car, showcasing their key features.

3D animation, game aids, and fun quizzes help enhance knowledge and engagement.

This learning experience was produced by mobedia's studio in Manchester city centre, while the film was shot in Manchester.

Gary Bannister-Simm, the creative director of the learning platform, emphasized, "Sportage has strengthened Kia's brand image over the years, so we used 'construction' as the main theme for the learning experience." The video also includes various accessories, including a full-color 3D print showcasing the model's appearance, as well as an assembled car body printed using Ultimaker to help users better understand the components of each structure.

"The interaction between video and 3D printing can connect imagination and reality, and weaken the limitations between the virtual and the physical. It can bring a sensory learning experience—the more realistic the experience, the more information can be conveyed while focusing on the product."

Karen Fagan, Head of Training at Kia UK, said: "This project in collaboration with Mobedia creates customized learning, using innovative methods to encourage learners throughout the process. This unique approach allows users to immerse themselves in the subject matter and retain a deeper understanding of the knowledge."

"This learning approach also captures the brand's spirit. This diverse learning experience makes the entire result, process, and project execution very interesting!" By combining 3D printing with 3D visual technology, in addition to gaining a visual sense of the appearance, one can also understand the features of the interior and structure, achieving a personalized learning effect.

3D printing, when combined with other technologies, has a wider range of applications. Although this project is not currently for sale, as long as you have a 3D printer , you can print your own car model ; or, we also provide high-quality printing services , using original factory machines to give you the same quality.
