[3D Printing News] Ultimaker Cloud and New Type of Cables

At the recent TCT Asia exhibition in Shanghai, Ultimaker announced two new developments in 3D printing : a cloud platform providing new features for Ultimaker 3D printers and software, and Ultimaker Cura print files for three other major materials companies. Ultimaker Cloud is designed to meet the needs of today's engineers and design professionals, streamlining 3D printing workflows and connecting with software and materials across various industries.

Ultimaker CEO Jasper Berg emphasized, " Ultimaker Cloud is key to accelerating digital local manufacturing. Our software and hardware, through collaboration with material suppliers, make Ultimaker printers the leader in industrial-grade desktop 3D printers ."

Essentium, eSUN, and Polymaker print parameter files:

In addition to the previously introduced new features of Cura 4.0 , Ultimaker users can also benefit from new automatic parameters, all of which can be downloaded from Ultimaker Cura. Common filaments from companies such as Essentium, eSUN, and Polymaker further expand the applications of FFF 3D printers across various industries.

Essentium has set up an Ultimaker print profile for their Ultrafuse Z PCTG material—designed specifically for ESD safety; Ultrafuse Z PCTG is fully applicable to professional fields such as cleanrooms and electronic jigs.

eSUN specializes in biodegradable industrial polymers and has developed the following three materials:

1) PETG combines the advantages of both PLA and ABS, possessing high mechanical strength and good flexibility.

2) ePA-CF is a green and environmentally friendly industrial consumable with high strength and rigidity.

3) HIPS (high-impact polystyrene) can be used as a building material and structural support material.

Polymaker print parameter files can also be downloaded via Ultimaker Cura:

1) PolyMide™ PA6-CF is PA6 (Nylon 6) that utilizes carbon fiber to enhance hardness and toughness, while also improving heat resistance.
2) PolyMide™ CoPA is a nylon copolymer material that enhances printing technology for mass production of nylon and eliminates the need for a heating chamber.
3) PolyCast ™ is designed for metal casting and can be completely evaporated in high-temperature dewaxing casting at temperatures above 600°C, leaving a maximum of only 0.003% residue.

Simplify processes and expand the scope

Ultimaker Cloud's built-in advanced tools and the continuously updated print configuration files in Ultimaker Cura simplify the professional 3D printing workflow and offer more material application options. More information about Cura 4.0 can be found in our previously shared article (further reading: Cura 4.0 Beta: Five Must-Have Expanded Features! ).

In addition to the new features coming to Cura 4.0 , the newly opened materials are equally exciting; we will continue to share and follow the latest technological advancements, hoping that 3D printing technology will lead humanity into a new future.
