The Prusa series of 3D printers previously included the award-winning Original Prusa i3 MK2 3D printer and Prusa i3 MK3 3D printer. After continuous development, the upgraded Prusa i3 MK3+ 3D printer was launched.




The most important new features of the original PRUSA I3 MK3S+:

• Automatic calibration: SuperPINDA sensor
The Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ is equipped with a highly sensitive SuperPINDA sensor and an automatic calibration function. Before each 3D print, it automatically detects the position of the print platform to ensure stable hot melt stacking and molding every time.



• Enhanced nozzle toughness: Original MISUMI metal structure
The Prusa MK3S+ features a metal clip for the original MISUMI bearing on the Y-axis, a redesigned belt structure on the X-axis, enhanced printhead toughness, and a modified 3D printing filament extrusion path for more stable support of various materials.



Overall component upgrade, infrared sensing
Equipped with Bondtech gears, an EINSY RAMBo motherboard, and an infrared sensing system, the Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ has received various awards in multiple 3D printer evaluations after its overall component upgrade.



Better 3D printing quality
Because of the completely redesigned printhead, replacing nozzles or PTFE tubing is simpler than before; and the nozzle and printhead motor are closer to the X-axis, which reduces the impact of resonance on print quality. At the same time, the MK3S is also suitable for 3D printing on flexible filaments.

Multiple updates and adjustments
The MK3S includes all the upgrades of the MK3, such as a genuine Gates belt, textile sleeve, a new Einsy housing, easier Raspberry Pi connection, a rust-resistant coating on the smooth PEI board, and dozens of firmware and plastic parts.

Replaceable heating plate
The new MK52 magnetic heating plate can replace the elastic alloy plate and features a PEI surface.

1. Double-sided textured PEI powder coated spring steel plate :
Suitable for Original Prusa i3 MK3S and MK2.5 / S 3D printers , the MK52 heated bed features a high-temperature resistant magnet that securely holds the movable spring steel plate. Powder coating on metal extends the lifespan of the base plate, and the powder coating gives the object a smooth and intact appearance. The textured surface prevents damage and scratches from other tools and leaves no marks on the model.

Scratch-resistant and durable. Easy-to-adjust Live Adjust Z-axis.
PETG does not require Windex.
• Printed objects can automatically separate after cooling. • Filament stacking is more compact. • No glue is required. • Texture can be transferred to 3D printed objects.

2. Spring steel plate with smooth double-sided PEI:
The spring steel plate with smooth double-sided PEI uses the same PEI steel plate as the MK2/S, making it ideal for printing PLA . It has excellent adhesion to all materials and maintains a smooth surface on the bottom of the object. The MK52 heated bed contains a high-temperature resistant magnet that can firmly hold the movable spring steel plate. It can replace the original spring steel plate of the Original Prusa i3 MK3S and MK2.5/S 3D printers. The steel plate can be black, gold, green, etc.

Frame stability
The MK3 guides the Y-axis back and forth from an aluminum telescoping mechanism, offering the same robustness as other printers while maintaining a sleek appearance. The frame has also been improved to add 10 mm to the Z-axis height at 210 mm.



Quiet and fast printing
Thanks to the new Trinamic 2130 driver and Noctua fan, the MK3 is remarkably quiet in energy-saving mode. However, in normal mode, the printer is quieter than 99% of printers; it also boasts increased printing speeds in normal mode, now exceeding 200 mm/s!



Power outage rescue
Have you ever ruined 20 hours of print work by tripping over an extension cord? The MK3 can save you! The printer can fully recover from a power outage. It detects power interruptions and shuts down the heated bed and printhead heating, allowing you to continue printing once power is restored.



New wire sensor
Previous sensors could not be used with certain special wires, but the new sensor is an optical sensor triggered by a simple mechanical lever. This sensor is not limited by the optical properties of the wire and will not break down due to mechanical wear.



Recovery deviation
The new EINSY RAMBo motherboard with Trinamic drivers not only makes the MK3 remarkably quiet, but it also detects skipped steps and deviations. This is a significant improvement in printer reliability and user comfort, allowing you to say goodbye to unsightly finished products!



Bondtech drive gears
The heated printhead has been upgraded with Bondtech drive gears that clamp the filament from both sides, increasing thrust and making the printer more reliable, especially for soft materials. Furthermore, the print cooling fans now provide individual cooling from both sides, further improving overall performance.



PINDA 2 detector
The MK3 features two new thermistors. The first measures the ambient temperature of electronic devices, preventing low-temperature errors at 15°C or lower. The second is embedded in the new PINDA 2 sensing head to compensate for temperature fluctuations, ensuring accuracy across each stack.



E3D V6 Nozzle
The E3D V6 is a market-leading all-metal nozzle renowned for its high-temperature performance. The MK3 uses a custom heat shield developed in collaboration with E3D, which has proven its reliability in our multi-material upgrade and delivers exceptional performance in a remarkably small size.
