[3D Printing Exhibition] Taipei Institute of Technology Design is in a "hot" situation: Limited edition merchandise is on the market!
The annual New Generation Design Exhibition serves as a vital bridge between Taiwan's industry, academia, and design talent. This year, the Department of Industrial Design at National Taipei University of Technology received 25 nominations for the Golden Pin Design Award among nearly 4,000 entries! These entries cover fields such as product design, spatial design, and social design. The works will be showcased at the New Generation Design Exhibition in May 2021, representing the culmination of each designer's hard work. Check out the highlights now!
The three forms of the element "water" inspire endless creative imagination.

• INFINITY BUBBLE (Shortlisted in the Spatial Design category)
As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19, Wuhan pneumonia) continues to spread globally, wave after wave, emerging Taiwanese designers, living in relatively safe environments, have designed the "Infinity Bubble," an air-filtering house designed to combat the pandemic. The outer layer uses negative pressure and filtration technology to block the virus, and its foldable design makes it easy to transport and assemble. It can also be modified to adapt to different usage needs, effectively responding to post-pandemic demands.

Algae Cleaner (Shortlisted in Product Design Category)
Marine pollution has always been a global problem. External pollution leads to excessive nutrients in rivers, causing blue-green algae to proliferate and steal sunlight and oxygen from other organisms, resulting in their death. "Algae Cleaner" uses AI to automatically patrol waters and employs internal pressurization technology to remove oxygen from the blue-green algae, rendering them buoyant and allowing them to be consumed by aquatic life. This also inhibits the spread of blue-green algae, reduces the chance of poisoning for humans and animals, enhances the survival advantage of other organisms, and maintains ecological balance.

• Memories of Island (Shortlisted in Social Design Category)
The world is facing a declining birth rate and an aging population. On average, one person is diagnosed with dementia every 3 seconds, requiring about 8 to 10 years of care, which is a difficult journey for caregivers. The "Memory Island" dementia care toolkit combines hardware and software, and integrates care information with medical staff to reduce the burden of care and improve the quality of care. It is a high-quality design for families of dementia patients and for promoting smart service models in friendly communities.

The shortlisted designs listed above represent only a small fraction of the total. SanDiMa wishes the Department of Industrial Design at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology a successful exhibition and sends best wishes to all shortlisted entries for great results! In addition to showcasing their meticulously prepared designs, the designers have also prepared a variety of exclusive merchandise, which will be available to the public during the exhibition.
Limited edition adorable pets available only at the exhibition.
Due to the overwhelming response to the merchandise, pre-orders closed at the end of April. If you like them, you can visit the exhibition booth during the exhibition period to purchase them!

It's worth mentioning that the "Mr. Cole Duck" in the BallBall Zoo, and the limited-edition hidden "Mystery Guest" gashapon capsule toys, were both produced using the dual-head system of the Ultimaker S5 industrial-grade 3D printer . This system can simultaneously print two different 3D printing filaments, not only improving production efficiency but also ensuring stable and precise layering of designs to create a smooth surface and saturated colors. Ultimately, this system successfully combined the ideas of the industrial designers from National Taipei University of Technology! We look forward to your arrival and joining all the designers in this grand event to shine brightly!
