"Tiger God" is a deity in Taiwanese folk religion who is depicted as a tiger. Originally, it was the mount of various gods such as mountain gods, earth gods, city gods, and Mazu. Now, it is the most representative guardian deity that protects children and businessmen.
Since 2020, the world has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, plunging all sectors into a low ebb. Taiwanese artist Fang Zhiwei created the artwork "Golden Flower Tiger God The Keeper" using media such as gouache and silk, in the image of the Tiger God, hoping to bring people warm positive energy, soothe their hearts and bring good fortune.
We are very honored to have collaborated with designer Fang Zhiwei to create a physical metal model of this auspicious elephant, which embodies the blessings of fortune, prosperity, and longevity, using 3D printing and 3D scanning technologies !
First, the initial design of the Tiger God sculpture was created, and the model was converted into a 3D image file using a 3D scanner . Then, using photopolymer 3D printing technology , various finished product effects were quickly tested in a low-cost manner.
After the preliminary preparations were completed, the final model of Tiger God was completed using metal 3D printing technology and titanium alloy materials. After the metal material painting process, the paint was applied to the metal Tiger God in sequence according to the original flat design by designer Fang Zhiwei, making it a perfect recreation as if it had stepped out of the painting!
After six months of conception and production, the titanium alloy "Golden Flower Tiger The Keeper" was born and successfully met everyone at the "2020 Taiwan International 3D Exhibition" held in August this year ( click to see the exhibition review ). It is also being promoted to the world through the Tangwan Art Center!
The design of Tiger God's ears resembles flames, symbolizing endless life. Within the flames is the character "寿" (shou), symbolizing longevity. May everyone overcome the difficulties of the pandemic and enjoy lasting health and safety.
