[3D Printing Applications] Ultimaker, a leader in 3D printing , has received two ISO international certifications.
We are pleased to share with you a milestone in Ultimaker's commitment to localizing digital manufacturing: Ultimaker has officially passed ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management certifications.
What do these international certifications represent?
Both of these are international standard certifications, which means that Ultimaker is not only a 3D printing company, but also a representative of professional, high-quality 3D printers , and a fully qualified and trustworthy supplier in terms of quality and environment.
What is ISO 9001?
ISO 9001: The latest version 2015 certification requires companies to demonstrate a quality management system across all endpoint processes that can provide products and services that meet customer needs and comply with regulations, and improve customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system.
What is ISO 14001?
ISO 14001: The latest version 2015 certification requires companies to manage their environment according to the new high-level architecture (HLS, the architectural requirements of the ISO management system standard) and apply it to all management systems, such as enabling companies to achieve sustainability.
Audit Team: BSI Group Certification
Headquartered in the UK, BSI is a founding member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The BSI Group collaborated with Ultimaker , providing comprehensive guidance at every stage. To obtain the latest 2015 certification, a rigorous audit of Ultimaker 's headquarters and global subsidiaries was required by accredited independent auditors with expertise in the automotive industry, Philips, and ASML. Ultimately, Ultimaker 's management system impressed the audit team with its quality and environmental practices exceeding the required standards.
• Exceeding Requirements
The management procedures of each Ultimaker department are assessed against various factors in accordance with the latest version of ISO 9001—from organizational risk to supply chain management. BSI auditors found zero "major nonconformities" and only one "minor nonconformity" in the Ultimaker system, and both were corrected before certification.
The review panel even commented: "It is extremely rare to find a company that is both highly qualified and relatively young."
What's also impressive is Ultimaker 's imaging data in "Qualitative Measurement R&R"; although it sounds complicated, it's just one method used to analyze measurement systems, with the aim of recording the magnitude and type of errors that occur during measurement.
The examiners had heard of this advanced method and its advantages before, but had not seen other companies using it; therefore, they were very impressed with Ultimaker’s leading position in the 3D printing industry.
BSI Group Auditor Jessma stated, "This achievement demonstrates Ultimaker's commitment to providing world-class products and customer experiences while meeting the highest environmental management standards; we are particularly impressed by Ultimaker's dedication to excellence and the high maturity of its management system."
• Continued Growth in the Future
Matthew Burt, QA Quality Manager at Ultimaker who leads the certification program, emphasized: "Obtaining certification is just a good start. Ultimaker will continue to improve and strengthen risk management, and prioritize the rights and experience of its users."
Ultimaker CEO Jasper stated, "These ISO certifications demonstrate Ultimaker's commitment to driving global enterprise adoption of desktop 3D printing ; while outstanding performance in the testing standards highlights customer satisfaction, risk management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement—all core values of Ultimaker . As 3D printing impacts global industries, Ultimaker continues to provide feedback as it grows, helping industries transform and accelerate towards a smart manufacturing future."
