Ultimaker Cura 3.4 beta version, a 3D printing software, has been released!

Please note: We have thoroughly tested this beta version, which includes new and improved features. However, it is still in beta, meaning we cannot guarantee it will have the same printing reliability as the stable version. If you are developing an important project, we strongly recommend using the latest official version of Ultimaker Cura.

UX Enhancements

Set a filter timeout. For better performance, set the filter to start now when input is available, or start after a 500 ms timeout.

Import automatically selects models. Users can manually select behavioral settings preferences for newly imported models.

Event Measurement. For basic testing purposes, event duration measurements have been added to the log, including boot time, file load time, number of objects on the platform during slicing, slice duration, and the ability to move objects on the print platform.

The error assistant detects and displays potential errors in the configuration files, such as incorrect or duplicate material or quality settings. These messages are stored and sent to the user to prevent similar errors from recurring.

Upgradeable bundled resources. You can now install resources bundled with multiple versions: the bundled version and download upgrades. If an upgrade has already been performed, the bundled version will not be loaded.
If not, Ultimaker Cura will revert to the bundled version.

Plugin Update

Toolbox. The plugin browser has been redesigned into the toolbox and includes graphical elements to provide more information about available plugins.

Cura Backup. After installation, you can back up your settings, materials, and plugins in Ultimaker Cura to the cloud. Create an account on our secure servers to easily store your settings whether you're at home or in the office.

AutoDesk Inventor integration. Open AutoDesk inventor files (parts, assemblies, drawings) directly in Ultimaker Cura.
Blender integration. Open Blender files directly in Ultimaker Cura.
OpenSCAD integration. Open OpenSCAD files directly in Ultimaker Cura.
FreeCAD integration. Open FreeCAD files directly in Ultimaker Cura.
OctoPrint plugin. A new version of the OctoPrint plugin from Ultimaker Cura.

Slicing engine upgrade

Fill support. When enabled, fill will only be generated when needed, and a specialized support generation algorithm will be used to produce the internal support structure of the part.
Provides support when filling or supporting structures are required.

Print the outer perimeter before punching. Prioritize processing the outer perimeter before printing the holes. By punching as late as possible, the risk of holes shifting on the printing platform is reduced.
This setting will only take effect if the outer layer is printed on the inner wall before the outer layer.

Disable support retraction. Previous versions lacked an option to disable support retraction during printing, which could cause issues with third-party machines or materials. An option to disable this feature has now been added.

Number of wall thickness lines supported. Increases the number of walls that can be supported for printing.

Maximum combing resolution. The combing process should be at least 1.5mm long to prevent buffer loading time.

Avoid collisions with the support during runtime. A setting has been added to prevent collisions with the support during runtime. This minimizes the risk of the print nozzle impacting the support material.

Cross-fill image. Experimental setup that allows you to input the path of an image to manipulate the cross-fill and cross-fill density. This image will be overlaid on your model.
Please note that the density setting may need to be adjusted before the image is visible.

Third-party printers and stability repair programs

Printer definitions for Felix Tec4, Deltacomb, and Rigid3D Mucit have been added.
This release includes numerous bug fixes, providing users with a more stable and high-quality experience. Notable bug fixes are as follows:

Print job name slice refactoring. Fixed an issue where print job names would revert to their original names upon regeneration.

Message box style. Fixed bugs related to message box styles, such as the progress bar overlapping with the "Send File" pop-up button.

Name it Curaproject. Fixes the bug where there are two "curaprojects" entries in the saved project and archive.

Wire diameter and linewidth. Adjust the wire diameter to calculate the linewidth in the GCODE analyzer.

Korean translation. Correcting spelling errors in the Korean translation.

ARM and Mali systems. Repair the graphics pipeline on ARM and Mali systems.

Discard/Keep. Fixed a bug where the "Discard or Keep" dialog box did not appear when changing materials in custom settings.

GCODE USB not supported. Fixed an issue where GCODE was not supported when the printer's USB port was enabled.
