[3D Printing News] Ultimaker Cura 3.2 beta version released.
Today we released the beta version of Ultimaker Cura 3.2, saving you time and materials and providing you with a better 3D printing experience.
Please note: While we have added some useful features and tested this version to the best of our ability, we cannot guarantee that it will have the same printing reliability as the stable version. If you are working on a very important project, please use the latest stable version.
New printing function
Tree-like support. Tree-like support is an experimental tree-like support structure that uses "tree branches" to support the model.
The tree-like structure "grows" and extends into the model, with fewer contact points than other support methods. Compared to other support methods, this results in better surface smoothness for printed objects with organic shapes, while reducing printing time and material usage. Users can combine tree-like supports with other types of support materials.
This setting can be found in the experimental category.
Adaptive layers. Ultimaker Cura uses adaptive layers to calculate and change the layer thickness based on the shape of the model.
The calculation method assigns a narrower layer thickness to the inclined surface and a wider layer thickness to the vertical surface. This results in high-quality surface treatment results.
Printing time will increase slightly. Users can specify the maximum amount of change, the step size, and the threshold.
This setting can be found in the experimental category.
Enhance the UI
Faster startup speed. Now, the defined printer is loaded when you add a printer, instead of loading every possible printer at startup, resulting in a faster startup process.
Backface culling in the layer view. This allows for better scaling of the model in the layer view by rendering the visible surfaces of the model instead of the entire model.
The rotation and trajectory are smoother.
Multiple build platforms. Upon launch, the new UI elements allow users to create different build platforms within the same workspace. Each build platform will share print settings that can be sliced and sent to a printer or Cura Connect group without requiring multiple clears of the build platform within the software.
Users can schedule each model on the same build platform or distribute them across multiple build platforms. This option can be enabled in the preferences settings.
Optimized viewing experience. The quick camera control buttons added in version 3.1 have been modified to create more precise isometric views, front view, left view, and right view.
Update the sidebar to QtQuick 2.0.
The application framework has been updated to improve speed, achieve better width and a more suitable style, and provide users with dropdown menus, along with enabled features.
The Ultimaker Cura theme, not an operating system theme.
Hide the sidebar. You can now do so by selecting View > Expand, Collapse Sidebar, or by using the hotkey CMD + E ( Mac).
CTRL + E (PC and Linux) hides/shows the sidebar. Provides greater visibility, a wider range of build platforms, or build platforms on small screens.
The sidebar can now be hidden to increase the visibility of the building platform.
Disable "Send Slice Information". A shortcut to disable "Send Slice Information" is added upon first launch, making it easier for privacy-conscious users to keep slice messages private. Clicking the disable button will take users to preferences , where they can edit the preferences themselves.
Signed binary files ( Windows). For security-conscious users, the Windows installer and Windows binaries are digitally signed to prevent "unknown application" warnings and false positives from virus scanners.
The OctoPrint plugin has been added to the plugin browser. This plugin has been moved to the plugin browser. Printers managed by the OctoPrint plugin can print through the Ultimaker Cura interface (version 3.2 or later).
Strengthen manual support. It is now much easier to load the model as a support structure or prevent the addition of supports in certain areas.
It is particularly effective when modifications to the support are needed.
Fix bugs
We pride ourselves on providing professionally tested and quality-tested software. We have fixed several bugs in this version, including errors caused by configuration profiles on remote drivers, bugs caused by outdated Arduino drivers, the center model option for resetting object orientation, and the automatic model alignment function.
Let's start installing the new software now !
Let's test the latest version of the world's most advanced 3D printing software together and see what new features it offers.
We value our user feedback and want to continue providing the best software. Please feel free to provide feedback so we can achieve a stable version .
