Everyone remembers Kinder Surprise Eggs from their childhood, and now Sandima is coming to print its own adult-sized 3D-printed Surprise Egg! Not only does it require no support structure, but it's also only the size of a ten-dollar coin, and the excavator-like structure is even movable! Come and take a look:





This 3D printing was performed using an Ultimaker S5 with a 0.25mm printhead, taking approximately 3 hours. The material used was PLA . Because the Ultimaker S5 uses a dual printhead system, when printing a single material, we can also use PVA for the contact surface of the printing platform, resulting in a more refined finished surface.



If you are using a single-nozzle 3D printer , it can also be printed! However, the contact surface between the excavator and the printing platform will be flatter and sharper. Thanks to the ingenious design of the creator, this mini excavator does not require supporting materials and the structure can rotate.



To help everyone test it, we didn't use any supporting materials in the structure, and it works perfectly! The printed excavator is very flexible; in addition to the robotic arm and wheels being able to rotate, even the body can rotate left and right!







In addition, the eggshell is also a must-have. It is a supportless, movable structure. After printing, the excavator can be shrunk down and placed inside the eggshell. There are small clips on the top of the eggshell, which will not pop open after being pressed.





Just how tiny is this excavator? When all the components are folded up, it only occupies 2.5 square centimeters! It can fit perfectly on a ten-yuan coin. We'll use a ten-yuan coin as a scale to give you a real sense of its size.
