[3D Printing Application] Sinterit's third new sample: Shock-absorbing car suspension!
SanDiMa has recently acquired many new Sinterit 3D printer samples with SLS technology . After reading the first two articles, here comes the third installment! (See the previous articles here: Part 1 and Part 2 !)
This Sinterit sample is part of a car suspension system. To showcase the interconnected functions in a single 3D print , a unique integrated structure was designed. For example, the rotating disc represents the location of the car's wheel rims.

In short, this Sinterit 3D-printed suspension needs to fulfill several physical functions: normal tire rotation (for forward and backward movement), left and right tire rotation (for cornering), and shock absorption (to reduce road bumps). Due to the directional nature of the print, please rotate it 90 degrees while viewing to visualize it. Based on these functions, in addition to the tire rotation shown above, it also needs to be able to rotate 180 degrees to control left and right cornering. 
It also has the shock absorption effect of a spring; the spring has a large force and can withstand pressure well, which is consistent with actual shock absorption applications. 
The Sinterit shock absorption system consists of two movable support frames connecting the tires, with a spring in the middle to achieve the shock absorption effect. Notably, the two ends of this spring are directly integrated with the connection point. 
As mentioned in our previous sharing, because Sinterit uses SLS technology for powder-based 3D printing , it does not require a supporting structure and can complete printing in one pass even with various combinations of movable elements. Remove the powder block after 3D printing , place it in a tray to remove the powder, and you can see the object gradually emerging. The one-piece structure was completed during printing!
