Since the initial beta release of Ultimaker Cura 4.0 in December 2018, it has received a great deal of user feedback, helping Ultimaker to improve the system based on these suggestions. Remote printing function
Since Cura 4.0 is an updated beta version, for important 3D printing projects, it is still recommended that you use the current official version, Cura 3.6 ( which can be downloaded here ). If you are keen to try new software, a download link is provided below. The following is a detailed introduction to the five key features mentioned above:
1. "Custom Mode" Interface: Based on user feedback from the initial beta version of Cura 4.0, the official interface of "Custom Mode" has been adjusted so that users can choose the parameter settings to be displayed according to their needs; the object movement axis is still retained in the screen for numerical adjustment.
2. Cloud Backup: "Cura backups" are now included in Ultimaker Cura and can be found in the "Extensions" menu. When you log in to your Ultimaker account, use this option to back up your Ultimaker Cura settings to the cloud so you can easily use them on any different computer.
3. Plugin Rating Mechanism: After logging into your Ultimaker account, you can provide feedback on plugins in the "Marketplace". By evaluating the experience, users can help each other find the most suitable plugins for their applications and provide valuable feedback to the contributors.
4. Improved "Marketplace": The official support website displayed in the "Marketplace" has been improved, and there will be more detailed product descriptions and a website link where materials can be ordered directly.
5. Remote Printing: Send 3D print jobs to your Ultimaker 3D printer from anywhere in the world via the internet and monitor the printing progress; keep track of progress anytime, anywhere. Currently, one Ultimaker printer can be connected to one Ultimaker account, and this feature will be enabled with the release of firmware 5.2 beta (which will be released soon).
