One-step printing function
One-step printing is a revolutionary new feature that makes 3D printing easier and more convenient to use. In this article, we'll explain how it works and the benefits it brings!
MakerWorld has developed a one-step printing function that is seamlessly integrated into the Bambu Handy APP, perfectly compatible with all Bambu Lab 3D printers, including the X1 Carbon , P1S , and P1P. It also currently supports over 40 non-Bambu Lab 3D printers, such as the Prusa, ensuring that more users can easily utilize 3D printing.
First, let's introduce the workflow of one-step printing:
When these elements come together, something magical happens: the model provided by the creator, the print profile provided by the 3D printing expert, and the filament parameters provided by the supplier. Bambu Lab's cloud-based slicing service is a key component of their system, bringing all these elements together. The resulting G-code is customized based on the best knowledge from the community and sent directly to the printer.
Why is printing configuration files (.3mf) encouraged?
Compared to STL and G code files, print configuration files (.3mf) have several advantages:
Convenient and time-saving
Print profiles can store all the information needed to print a model, including print settings, orientation, arrangement, and coloring. This saves users time and hassle from manually adjusting these settings every time they print, especially for complex projects.
Highly flexible
Print profiles are not specific to any particular printer, cable, or build board. This allows users the flexibility to change printers, cables , or build boards without creating new print profiles.
Easy to edit
Print profiles are easy to edit and iterate upon. This allows users to fine-tune print settings for optimal results.
G-code and STL files have limitations. G-code files are only compatible with specific printers, cables , and build boards. STL files lack slicing settings, which users must adjust manually. If you still wish to use STL, MakerWorld offers the option to upload/download STL files.
Will printing the configuration file damage my printer?
MakerWorld protects your printer from the risk of overheating or nozzle clogging caused by incorrect settings by not using the printer and print settings in the uploaded print profile when slicing in the cloud. Instead, it re-slices using either the official presets created in Bambu Studio or your own settings, depending on the printer and print type you select.
MakerWorld offers a range of useful features through cloud slicing and printing configuration files:
1. Easily Print Multi-Part Models: Bambu Lab's system allows you to separate multi-part models onto individual printing plates, making printing easy even on mobile devices. Furthermore, by assigning parts of the same color to a single plate, filament waste due to color switching is effectively reduced. Printed plates are marked to prevent duplicate printing. If any plate fails to print successfully, you can quickly reprint the selected plate. Additionally, assembly instructions can be obtained directly from Bambu Handy without the need for a computer.

2. Universal Compatibility of Bambu Studio Print Profiles (.3MF): A single Bambu Studio print profile supports multiple printers and plate types without requiring adjustments. For example, if one user uploads a print profile for a Bambu X1 printer and a textured PEI plate , another user can easily switch to the different printer and plate . This compatibility is achieved through cloud slicing, which preserves key elements of the print profile (such as support/intensity settings) while adjusting for each print job based on the current printer, line, and plate .
3. Simplified Filament Selection: Don't worry if you don't have the same data as the uploader of the print profile! You can choose a suitable alternative from existing materials. For example, if the uploader used PETG , you can choose PLA , ABS , or other materials. Bambu Lab's cloud slicing service will adjust according to the selected material parameters to ensure accurate printing. Furthermore, Bambu Handy also supports custom material parameter presets created in Bambu Studio for optimal results.
Slice the cable according to your cable type. The image above shows that the cable for the printed file is set to PETG. You can convert it to PLA or other cables.
4. Color Change Preview (Coming Soon): MakerWorld supports color switching and model preview. This feature allows you to clearly see the printing effect of the selected color. Additionally, cloud slicing can adjust the filament removal amount according to your color selection to prevent color mixing.
5. Easy Copying: This program makes it easy for devices that require multiple copies. Simply specify the number of copies needed, and the cloud slicing function will find the ideal location for each copy.
In summary, MakerWorld's one-step printing, cloud slicing, and print profiles redefine the 3D printing experience. Enhanced convenience, compatibility, and flexibility allow users to explore their creativity without technical barriers!
