[Vacuum forming application] Italians are going crazy too, transforming traditional chocolate pies!

Pine trees are precious mascots in Italy, and many local crafts are modeled after pine cones and pine trees. Now you can easily make one too! For Easter, a Sicilian chocolate factory has combined 3D printing and vacuum forming technology to directly save time and labor in the production process, launching a pine cone-shaped chocolate based on a ceramic masterpiece. Read on to see more!

Bonajuto, a chocolate factory with over 150 years of history, has long used traditional handcrafting to make all kinds of chocolates, with strict quality control over everything from grinding cocoa beans to making desserts. Now, it combines new technologies to create new flavors, and the factory's production process is gradually transforming.

(The renowned Italian handcrafted ceramic masterpiece, "Vertag Caltagirone").

First, you need to make a dessert mold. Use Ultimaker 3D printing to print a pine tree model. It uses common 3D printing filaments such as PLA , Tough PLA , and ABS , and can print quickly without a supporting structure.

If you're making a whole pine tree model, there's a problem with flipping the mold from top to bottom. You can simply 3D print half of the structure, then use a FormBox vacuum molding machine to split the chocolate in half, add your favorite toys or cookies, and finally assemble the chocolate shell to get a pine cone-shaped Easter egg. You decide what surprises are inside!

(Place the 3D model into the FormBox vacuum forming machine , and use a transparent injection molding material sheet that has been certified for food safety to mold it. The vacuum suction is strong and fast, and the chocolate mold can be completed in 3 seconds!)

In food manufacturing, silicone is often used to make product molds. Now, a vacuum forming machine can be used to make them directly, and they can be demolded immediately, which is very convenient. There is no need to worry about different dessert flavors, as a vacuum forming machine can quickly and infinitely replicate them.

After the preliminary work on the model is completed, pour the melted chocolate into the mold. At this point, you can choose to make it solid or hollow. Then put the mold filled with chocolate into the refrigerator to cool.

Once cooled, the chocolate can be easily unmolded. You can then add your favorite snacks as little Easter eggs, and piece the two chocolates together to create a delightful Easter dessert. Give it to your friends to surprise them while they unwrap the gift!

During special holidays, creative combinations of 3D printing and vacuum forming technologies allow for the easy and unlimited replication of various styles or quantities at home. This can be applied to product development in dessert shops, effectively saving production time and costs.
