【3D Printing Latest News】Ultimaker New Product Updates!
Ultimaker is always looking for new ways to improve its products.
Recently, Ultimaker has been focusing on expanding its material lineup and developing new versions of Cura,
while also working on new solutions to further enhance the user's 3D printing experience.
Below is an overview of the new products announced in June of this year!
Ultimaker PP: Material for Functional Prototypes and Durable End-Use Parts
Polypropylene (commonly abbreviated as "PP") is one of the most widely used plastic materials in the world.
It is favored by engineers and manufacturers worldwide and used across a wide range of industries.
With excellent toughness and fatigue resistance, it is an ideal material for functional prototypes and manufacturing durable end-use parts.
Furthermore, its low density allows for the creation of lightweight parts while maintaining high strength.
It also boasts excellent heat resistance, electrical insulation, and chemical resistance. It can withstand temperatures up to 105°C, can be used as an electrical insulator, and is suitable for containers that store various alkalis and acids, including industrial cleaning agents.
PP combines semi-flexibility and translucency with low friction and smooth surface properties, making it suitable for manufacturing electronic components and moving parts.
Ultimaker PP performs excellently on Ultimaker 3 and Ultimaker 2+ series 3D printers.

PP has high fatigue resistance, meaning it is resistant to breaking even when repeatedly bent. By using PP, prototyping can be done with materials close to the final product, combining translucency, chemical resistance, and high toughness.
Ultimaker 3: Optimized 3D Printing Experience
To provide a professional and reliable 3D printing experience, Ultimaker has conducted numerous tests on CPE+, PC, and TPU 95A, and provides optimized 3D printing setting profiles.
Improvements have also been made to PVA material, enhancing the reliability of printing with PLA and PVA combinations, and now supporting CPE and PVA combinations.
In addition, new nozzle sizes have been added for PrintCore.
While the conventional 0.4mm PrintCore allows for very high-precision modeling, the new 0.8mm PrintCore enables even faster printing, making it ideal for rapid prototyping and model creation.
The 0.8mm PrintCore can be used with various settings depending on the application. The new PrintCore also supports plug-and-play, maintaining Ultimaker's characteristic ease of use.
The AA PrintCore is designed for Ultimaker's main materials such as PLA, ABS, and CPE.

The BB PrintCore nozzle interior is designed with a slightly different shape to enable smoother printing when using PVA, a water-soluble support material.By combining PVA with materials such as PLA, nylon, and CPE, more complex structures can be easily fabricated, maintaining the beauty and integrity of the finished product.
We are also releasing the latest Ultimaker 3 Advanced 3D Printing Kit.
This kit is designed to ensure consistent, high-quality print results when printing with materials such as ABS, PP, CPE+, and PC on Ultimaker 3 or Ultimaker 3 Extended.
The front cover protects the printer from airflow and stabilizes the internal temperature environment of the printer.
The build plate adhesion sheets provide superior adhesion and are recommended for use with PP, CPE+, and PC.
However, do not use them with TPU 95A. TPU naturally has very high adhesion, and using the sheets with it may make it difficult to remove the print after fabrication.

Firmware 3.7.1
The latest firmware includes many important improvements.
One of the most significant new features is the ability for Wi-Fi connected users to resume prints directly from the Ultimaker 3 itself, without going through Cura.
Another important feature is the added support for PrintCore cleaning.
This option provides detailed instructions on how to perform "hot pull" and "cold pull" procedures, which may be necessary for nozzle cleaning.
The last highlight of the new firmware is the improved material change process.
When changing materials, Ultimaker 3 automatically removes residual material and keeps the PrintCore interior completely clean before loading new material.
Cura 2.6.1
Based on user feedback received during the beta phase, we have released the latest version of Cura 2.6.1.
Key new features include:
●New versions do not overwrite older versions upon installation: When installing Cura 2.6.1, a new folder is created,
and existing Cura version settings and parameters are not overwritten.
●Improved support adhesion: The new Cura improves support adhesion for PLA/PVA and Nylon/PVA.
Furthermore, it now supports CPE/PVA combinations.
●3D model auto-placement function: Whether placing multiple models or duplicating a single model, placement is now easier.
The auto-placement function automatically repositions models onto the build plate, preventing them from being placed outside the printing area.
The new Cura also supports PP material and the latest 0.8 mm PrintCore.
The Most Reliable Professional 3D Printer
Ultimaker is a reliable professional desktop 3D printer that offers industrial-grade materials and user-friendly software.
Its goal is to provide the optimal solution for professionals involved in prototyping, jig making, and small-batch production.
With the product and feature updates introduced here, 3D printing becomes even more convenient and efficient.
