[ 3D Printing Applications] Yatish International - The Perfect Match Between 3D Printing and Design Proposals

Yatish International is an interior design company that primarily handles commercial space planning for airport duty-free shops and department stores, while also providing residential interior design services.
Most of their main clients are internationally renowned wine merchants. Recently, one of their commercial space design projects has a 3D printing business collaboration with 3DMart, using photopolymer 3D printing technology to complete the decoration of the design counter.

Those who enjoy drinking should be familiar with the famous Dalmore whisky, most notably for its lifelike deer head logo.
The 3D printed deer head item was later installed as a decoration at the tasting event counter in the duty-free shop at Taoyuan Airport.

Why choose 3D printing technology ?

In fact, most of the decorative items used by Yadish in previous commercial space design projects were made by sculpting a model with artificial clay and then casting it. This time, 3D printing technology was chosen because the client provided a complete 3D file and required greater precision in the production of the decorative items, so a 3D printer was chosen to make them.
The design manager of Yatishi stated that they initially considered using CNC machining or metal processing, but after evaluating the price and time, they felt that 3D printing was more suitable for their cost requirements. 3D printing is cheaper than other manufacturing methods, and it can reproduce almost all the required level of detail.

Production process

The image shows a deer head decoration that has just been 3D printed.

This time, a Liquid Crystal HR LCD photopolymer 3D printer was used for 3D printing. The printed deer head model was then sent to an electroplating plant for electroplating.
Due to time constraints, there wasn't much time to conduct tests. If there had been more time, we could have printed a different model made of harder resin.
This can help to avoid minor deformations caused during post-processing (electroplation).

After printing, wait for the resin to cure before removing the supports.

After using tools to remove the supports, 3DMart's task was completed. The deer head 3D print was then sent to a professional electroplating factory for surface treatment, making it look like metal, shiny and attractive.

The electroplated deer head ornament looks very exquisite, and at first glance, it really looks like a metal product.


Adding the deer head to the display case made the merchandise look incredibly impressive!

Future Development

Currently, Yadish mainly focuses on commercial space planning and design projects, but in the future, it plans to develop into residential interior design, allowing customers to enjoy a refined living experience space similar to that of commercial spaces.
