Make the most of Cura's clever tricks to unlock the full potential of industrial parts. Four applications revealed, applicable to various industries. Maximize productivity with your dual-head 3D printer :
Schubert Industrial Actuator
Gerhard Schubert GmbH is a pioneer in "TLM technology" for top-loading packaging machines ( click to view ). They produce many automated devices that often require modular, movable industrial parts. These types of parts tend to have complex structures and require high precision. The movable part shown below has four screws and a linked axle, and is 3D printed in one step using a dual-nozzle system.

After 3D printing , the support structure can be easily dissolved in water without damaging the prototype; after the water-soluble filaments are dissolved, the surface of the parts will not be affected by the support, and the beautiful model body can be completely preserved and used directly on the machine, making it suitable for making and developing various functional products.
Conveyor belt parts from the Heinegan plant
The globally renowned Heineken brewery has more than 150 production plants worldwide ( click to see ). When manufacturing conveyor belt parts, they made good use of the Ultimaker dual-nozzle function, using two different colors and materials to make the outer and inner layers of the parts.
After prolonged transport, the outer white nylon material wears down. When workers see the inner red material, it means the part needs to be replaced! This not only ensures the safety of equipment use but also saves on manufacturing costs. The conveyor belt parts have red PLA threads inside, which are displayed as red in Cura, while the outer nylon threads are displayed as white. The thread distribution can be clearly adjusted and checked before 3D printing .
Industrial 3D printed parts need to withstand pressure and impact for a long time, and must also protect the products being transported and processed. For example, fixtures need to have a robust and durable structure with an elastic inner layer to achieve the best mechanical functionality. Dual-nozzle 3D printing can print two materials at the same time, which not only saves costs but also completes the printing in a single print!

Using a dual-head 3D printer for multi-color printing, a single tool can simultaneously perform multiple functions such as logo alignment, part fixing, and assembly, significantly accelerating the efficiency of maintenance and development work.
Cura offers two modes, leaving no detail overlooked.
X-ray fluoroscopy mode:
Before slicing, switch to X-ray perspective mode to clearly see the internal structure of the object. If there are missing pieces or incorrect surfaces, the software will automatically display them in red. You can quickly check for problems in the details of the model and identify errors before 3D printing , which can effectively save time and improve work efficiency.

Layer preview mode:
By utilizing the features of the Ultimaker Cura software and pairing it with the Ultimaker dual-head 3D printer , you can enjoy a highly efficient and high-quality product manufacturing process.
