[Christmas Special] Want to build a snowman? Learn how with chocolate "Olive"!

SanDima wishes everyone a Merry Christmas! This year, let the cutest and funniest chocolate "Olive" from "Frozen 2" accompany you through Christmas. Using the FormBox vacuum molding machine , it's super quick and easy without silicone molds, perfect for fun for both adults and children!

First, we modified the open-source file for "Olaf". In Ultimaker Cura, you can see that this Olaf does not have branches, arms, nose, or hair. These will be added after the chocolate body is completed.

This model was created using white Tough PLA clay in the Ultimaker 3D printer , and then placed in the FormBox vacuum molding machine . If you don't have a 3D printer , you can sculpt it by hand with clay. However, for those of us with less-than-stellar craftsmanship, a 3D printer is more suitable. There are also special offers on FormBox + 3D printer bundles available in the online store!

In the food industry, 3D printing is often used to create custom-made mass-production molds using silicone (further reading: "Playing" with Molds: Tech Dessert Artist Dinara Kasko ). An even faster way is to use a vacuum forming machine to create molds directly; with just a light press, the mold is completed in a few seconds and can be demolded immediately without waiting, making it convenient and fast.

After completing the preliminary work, prepare the following materials: an Olaf mold, two white chocolate bars (you can also prepare one extra piece of dark chocolate for coloring), a bowl, and materials that can be heated in a microwave or a double boiler.

1. First, break the chocolate into small pieces and put them in a bowl. Microwave for 1 minute (depending on your microwave's power), stirring until completely melted.

2. Pour the melted white chocolate into the Olaf mold to fill it completely, then place the entire chocolate-filled mold in the refrigerator or at room temperature to cool.

3. After cooling, invert the "Olive" mold to remove it from the mold; the white chocolate body is now complete! Because FormBox 's original transparent material is food-safe, it can be used to make molds for chocolates, cookies, etc., and even British chain chocolate shops use it. (Further reading: Paul A. Young Chocolate Chain: How to Use Vacuum Molds! )

4. Repeat step 1 above to melt the dark chocolate. Then, put the melted chocolate into a piping bag and add eyes, nose, buttons, and arms to Olaf according to your desired parts. That's how you finish Olaf lying in the snow!

Serving homemade decorative desserts during Christmas is very appropriate. Dessert molds can be made quickly using tools such as 3D printing and vacuum forming , and can be made in unlimited quantities or styles, which is very practical for parties or gift exchanges. For small and medium-sized dessert shops, this not only facilitates creative development but also saves production time.

Do you have a better creative design? Come and try using the FormBox vacuum forming machine to make your own unique desserts and amaze everyone at the Christmas party! Alternatively, we also offer high-quality 3D printing services to create exquisite samples or functional prototypes for your customized projects.
