📚 Quick Tour
| 1. Search | Quickly search for highlights, tags, labels, notes, and measurement information within the model using keywords. |
| 2. Start Location | Set an attractive and impressive viewpoint you want to show customers, and use it as the "Start Location," "Cover Image," and "Main View." |
| 3. Labels | Add simple labels to highlight important areas within the space, helping customers quickly understand the location of equipment and facilities. |
| 4. Measurements |
Visitors can measure the dimensions of objects and spaces. You can also take measurements in edit mode and provide that information to visitors. |
| 5. Guided Tour | Points of interest (highlight images) display important areas within the space and provide visitors with important background information and details about that location. |
| 6. Tags (Add Tags) |
By adding tags to specific locations or objects, you can provide more information and interactive features. Tags can include text, images, and links, and can be used to add descriptions, introduce product features, and provide other relevant content. This enhances and enriches the visitor's virtual tour experience. |
| 7. Notes | You can collaborate efficiently with team members within the 3D virtual space.
Similar to the collaborative editing feature of Google Docs, you can add comments, communicate, and reply on different objects. |
| 8. Views |
You can create up to "10 unique spatial views" for different teams and customers. Example: *A Professional plan or higher is required to use this feature. |
| 9. Data Layers | Space visitors can choose to view all layers, only some layers, or no layers in the 3D view. *A Professional plan or higher is required to use this feature. |

10. Hide Extra 3D Scans (Hide 3D Scan Points) |
You can select scan points to hide from within the model. For example, use this if people are captured during the scan, if scan positions are excessively dense, or if personal or private information is accidentally displayed. |
| 11. Place 360° Views / 360° Viewpoints and Snapshots | A 360° panoramic view is a scanning method that captures only visual data, not depth data, using a camera or smartphone. The captured 360° panoramic view can be naturally displayed within a virtual tour. |
| 12. 2D Photos |
You can take **2D snapshots (still images)** of the 3D space. The captured snapshots can be used in **Highlight Reels** or downloaded for other purposes. |
| 13. Blur Brush | You can use the manual blur brush to blur sensitive or private information in the space.Examples: family photos, house numbers, car license plates, etc. |
| 14. Plugins | Add a compass, miniature map, business card, or quick links to your space to provide additional information to visitors. |
| 15. Trim |
You can create a more polished 3D view. The trim tool allows you to remove distracting, unwanted parts or out-of-bounds mesh elements from within the 3D view. You can also quickly hide ceiling or other vertical space model geometry. |
| 16. Property Layout (Customize Space Layout) | You can adjust, add, or delete doors and openings. You can also update room types and names. |
1. Search
With "Spatial Search," you can search for keywords contained in **tags, labels, notes, measurement data, and highlights (guided tours)** within the Showcase browsing or editing modes.
This operates similarly to using the **"Search" function** in Google Docs to find necessary information.
It's a very convenient feature for helping visitors quickly find the information or elements they need.
2. Start Locations
By setting "Start Location and Scan Points," you can effectively manage the navigation route within the virtual tour.
Once you complete scanning a space with the scanner, the software automatically generates numbered **"scan points."**
When visitors browse the model, you can hide "scan points" to guide them along a desired order.
Additionally, if you want to prevent visitors from starting at a random location, such as a corner on the lowest floor, you can set a preferred starting point, such as an entrance. This is what **"Start Location"** setting is for.
・Highlight important areas (or visually appealing spots) within the space.
・Guide visitors to the location of equipment and facilities.
・Mark areas where rooms are planned for future construction (for architectural projects).
・Use as markers on a "floor plan" to indicate specific locations or complex parts.
Furthermore, you can also set whether visitors can view in "Floor Plan Only" or "Floor Plan + Dollhouse View."
Expand the drop-down menu for "Room Labels" under▶︎"Advanced"▶︎"Settings."
4. Measurements
Matterport's measurement feature allows you and visitors to measure the size of objects and spatial dimensions from an overhead view (dollhouse view) within a 3D model.
This feature has the following characteristics:
・Compatible with smartphones, tablets, and PCs, allowing measurements anytime, anywhere.
・Automatically recognizes corners, edges, vertical axes, and horizontal axes with high precision.
・Supports thousands of measurements.
・Continuous measurements and measurements using multiple connecting lines are easy to operate.
・Measurement units can be freely selected: feet/inches or meters.
Expand the drop-down menu for "Measurement Mode" under "Settings" ▶ "Advanced Settings."
From here, you can set whether visitors can use the measurement function.
5. Guided Tour
With the widespread use of short videos on social media, creating customized video tours to show visitors what you want them to see is a powerful tool to enhance tour efficiency and provide an engaging viewing experience.
Its versatility extends beyond real estate, being widely utilized in various applications and scenarios such as architecture and insurance claims.
You can choose from two modes to determine the type of tour you want to create:Highlight Reel:
This creates a slideshow of each destination (point) within the space, guiding users sequentially from one viewpoint to another. In Highlight Reel tours, a semi-transparent gray play button appears in the lower left corner of the screen.
You can share information about each point in the tour with visitors using subtitles displayed on the screen.
In this display style, the "Highlight" mode is hidden, offering a simpler and more mobile-friendly design.
In Story Mode tours, a white play button appears in the lower left corner of the screen.

6. Tags
How to Embed a Video
**"Mattertags"** allow you to embed text, images, PDF documents, and even entire other 3D models, providing visitors with diverse and rich information.
Additionally, you can direct visitors to other websites, forms, shopping carts, YouTube, and more, offering a more fulfilling experience.
You can also add deep links that connect to other models. This is a very convenient way to link two 3D models.

7. Notes
Matterport Notes is a convenient feature for efficient team collaboration.
Its exceptional strength lies in its ability to directly attach documents used for collaboration to a Matterport spatial model. However, Matterport Notes is only available on the spatial tour page and can only be used by collaborators with editing access.
8. Views
Create up to 10 unique **"Views"** to display your 3D space for different user groups or teams.
Each view can be shared individually, and each can have its own tags, navigation settings, and other features.
For example, you can showcase different services or products to different customers, or create multiple different views from the same space for different training modules or teams.
When "Views" is enabled, the screen at the top of the model in edit mode will look like this:
To create a new View, click the pull-down menu to the right of "Basic Model View" and select "Add View".
Click the three dots (⋯) on the left to rename, duplicate, delete, or share this view.
9. Data Layers
Data Layers allow visitors to group and toggle the visibility of tags, highlight markers, notes, measurement data, and more.
Conceptually similar to **Views**, Data Layers operate beneath views.
By checking a box, visitors can choose to display all data within a view, only the necessary data, or hide all data.
How to Create Matterport Data Layers
Click "Select" in the search menu to add previously created tags, highlight markers, notes, and measurement data to the data layer.
If you find it tedious to add items one by one, you can use the "Duplicate Item" feature.
Simply select the checkboxes next to the items you wish to duplicate, then choose which data layer to copy them to, and they will be easily duplicated.
10. Hide Extra 3D Scans
Based on our scanning experience, we recommend placing more scan points when scanning a space. More scans mean more 3D data can be collected, allowing for the creation of complete 3D models and floor plans.
However, situations like the following may occur:
・People accidentally appearing in the scan.
・Scan points being too dense, making navigation complex or inconvenient.
・Personal or private information inadvertently displayed by the scan.
・Scan results appearing unsightly or unappealing.
・The height of a scan point differing from other scan positions.
3D scan points cannot be hidden in 360° snapshots and highlight reels. If you wish to remove specific scan points, please ensure they have been removed from your 360° snapshots and highlight reels beforehand.
11. Place 360° Views / 360° View and Snapshot
The 360° view feature allows you to place panoramic views within the spatial model and adjust their display position.
You can also freely place points of interest for visitors within the bird's-eye view (dollhouse view).
For example, if you want to show a corner of a balcony in more detail, you can set the viewpoint for that location by **clicking the 360° icon and selecting "Move to outermost position"**.
You can also drag the photos within the window and place them anywhere on the dollhouse view screen.
If you want the 360° view orientation to align with the real-world direction, as if the viewer were actually outside, you can click the rotation icon to set the direction the viewer is facing. This prevents confusion caused by misaligned viewing directions.
12. 2D Photos
Have you ever taken photos of a space on site, only to realize later that you missed a spot when trying to provide them to a client or use them for promotional materials, requiring you to return to the site for additional shooting?
For videos, you also need to prepare the composition and scenario beforehand...
However, by saving the digital space to the cloud through 3D scanning, you can freely view and manage the scanned space with virtually no blind spots. Furthermore, with the high-resolution snapshot (capture) function, you can use the images directly for marketing materials and promotional content!
Clicking the **"camera icon"** in the right menu column displays a grid on the screen (this feature is very convenient, allowing you to neatly frame your shots like an iPhone camera). You can also zoom in and out, significantly reducing the time spent on editing and cropping images later.
In the new 2024 version, the system automatically generates several photos and video assets, which is very convenient as you can freely add or remove them as needed.
13. Blur Tool
Matterport's "Blur Tool" feature is primarily for privacy protection. This tool allows you to blur and hide information you don't want to make public, such as photos on walls, personal information written on whiteboards, car license plates captured during outdoor shooting, or residential addresses.
A new feature added in 2024 automatically detects faces in 3D models. Detected faces can be blurred all at once or selectively blurred as needed. This prevents the worry of overlooked areas being made public.
14. Plugins (Labels, Thumbnails, Compass, Quick Links)
Please note: To use the "Plugins" feature, a Professional plan or higher is required. Please feel free to contact us for details on each plan.
15. Trimming
The trimming tool allows you to make your 3D model look more presentable and organized. With the trimming function, you can:
・Hide unnecessary fragments or objects outside the scanned area within the 3D model display.
・Remove unwanted data or noise captured during scanning.
・Quickly hide unnecessary model shapes that exist vertically, such as ceilings or open spaces.
*Please note: Trimming a 3D model is a visual editing feature to improve the display. It does not actually delete model data.
16. Customize Space Layout
The <strong>Custom Layout feature, integrated with AI technology, is automatically enabled in your account and offers the following benefits:
・Automatic Measurement: When creating a Matterport digital twin, the dimensions of each room (including ceiling height) are automatically measured and displayed with high accuracy. This significantly reduces the time and effort required for manual measurement requests from potential buyers.
Real-time Layout: With one click, you can seamlessly switch between the 2D layout and 3D view of the space. Information such as room names and wall sections is also displayed, allowing for an intuitive understanding of the entire space.
Easy to Edit: Each room in the layout can be easily edited and adjusted, including wall and opening positions, room names, and more, using simple point-and-edit tools.
AI-powered Automated Property Reports: In addition to an overview of the entire space, you can automatically generate and download detailed reports, including the area and dimensions of each room. This allows you to create property information for MLS (Multiple Listing Service) registration more quickly and efficiently.
