[Unboxing and Hands-on Review] Picaso 3D Printer: Dual-color, dual-material, nozzle switching in 5 seconds!
The Picaso Designer X PRO 3D printer is a dual-head 3D printer using a 1.75mm wire diameter. Employing patented JetSwitch technology, it can switch nozzles in 5 seconds for rapid two-color or two-material 3D printing . Combined with a lift-up door, the enclosed printing space can operate at temperatures up to 380°C. Let's take a look at the unboxing and hands-on testing:
After unpacking the machine, the box contained a tool kit (e.g., screws, needle-nose pliers, assembly parts), two rolls of 3D printed cables , and a power cord. What caught my eye was the bright and saturated colors of the tools included with Picaso ; when I opened the tool kit, I thought I was looking at a toy model!
The Picaso Designer X PRO has a maximum print volume of 200 x 200 x 210mm. Two rolls of 3D printing filament can be placed on each side of the machine. We used the original Picaso filaments that came with the machine, silver PLA and ESUN PVA water-soluble filaments , for double-layer printing.
As 3D printing progresses, the Picaso Designer X PRO 's control screen continuously records the printing time, the individual temperatures of the two printheads, the real-time temperature of the printing platform, and the current completion percentage (%), allowing users to clearly monitor the production progress.
After the two-color 3D printing is completed, the PVA water-soluble support on the monster - Durotan must be dissolved in water to obtain the final product.
(Immerse the 3D printed model directly in water; the water-soluble filaments will gradually dissolve without manual removal.)
(Observing the monster that is halfway dissolved, the PVA on the body has completely dissolved, while the PLA itself is smooth and flat, and its appearance is not affected at all. We look forward to the final result after the dissolution is complete.)
The Warcraft model is an assembly-type 3D print model. For this test, we focused on the details of the upper body structure using Picaso 's printing technology. The finished product clearly shows muscle texture, the dangling details of the necklace, and the high-quality structural representation of the hair and braids.
