[3D Printing] Entering a New Field! Phrozen Arco FDM 3D Printer

Having established advanced SLA 3D printing technology, Phrozen has decided to expand into the FDM printing sector.
Rather than releasing a conventional desktop printer, they went all-in and announced the company's first FDM 3D printer—the Phrozen Arco.

Phrozen is highly regarded in the 3D printing industry, particularly known for its resin 3D printers.
Founded in 2016, the company made a name for itself with high-resolution equipment capable of producing extremely fine details.
The Sonic series, including the Sonic Mini 8K and Sonic Mega 8K, has gained popularity in fields such as miniature modeling, cosplay props, and even professional prototyping.
Phrozen is committed not only to improving print quality but also to developing printers that are easy to set up and use, which is one of the reasons for their rapid growth in the market.

And now, Phrozen's newly announced Phrozen Arco is designed for mid-sized projects, combining high-speed printing with a generous build volume.
The Arco achieved great success on Kickstarter, garnering over 1,400 backers. It is now available for general sale.

Design and Print Quality
The Phrozen Arco is simple and robust—exactly the features required when printing life-sized objects such as masks and armor.
The frame uses sturdy metal to reduce vibrations during long print sessions.
The open-frame design provides easy access to the build area, allowing you to load materials or check the status of a print in progress.
The touchscreen is simple and user-friendly, allowing for easy adjustment of settings and monitoring of progress without having to dig through menus.
Setting up and calibrating the printer is also hassle-free and very straightforward.

The Phrozen Arco is designed for mid-sized prints and can handle such projects quickly and efficiently.
With a build volume of 300 x 300 x 300 mm³, there is plenty of space to print helmets, masks, prototypes, and more in one go.
This not only saves time but also leads to fewer defects in the final products.

One of Arco's greatest strengths is its speed.
Equipped with 18mm dual extrusion gears and an HGX extruder with a 9.5 torque ratio, print speeds can reach up to 600 mm/s with an acceleration of 30,000 mm/s².
This is about 12 times faster than many standard FDM printers.
You can complete large projects faster without compromising print quality.
The Direct Extrusion Path (DEP) system shortens the distance between the gears and the hotend, improving filament delivery.
This configuration makes it easier to maintain stable extrusion even with soft materials like TPU, which can be difficult to handle in standard setups.

To maintain stability during high-speed printing, the Arco features a low center of gravity base, a CoreXY structure, and four reinforced support struts.
These design elements reduce wobble and lower the risk of failure due to unwanted movement during printing.
If multi-color printing is required, the Arco can be combined with Phrozen's Chroma Kit to support up to four colors.
This allows you to set multiple colors for a single project without having to manually swap materials during printing.

The Arco utilizes open-source Klipper firmware, which provides finer control over print settings.
It frees you from the limitations of factory settings, allowing you to make adjustments and fine-tune to easily unleash the printer's potential based on your project requirements.

Various Applications
The Phrozen Arco caters to a diverse range of projects, especially those that benefit from a large build space and high speed.
Its strengths include:

Prototyping and Product Design: The large build volume allows full-scale prototypes to be printed in one go without being split into smaller parts.
For engineers and designers, this speeds up the testing process and reduces the need to glue parts together after printing.
Cosplay and Props: When printing helmets, armor, or large props, the Arco has enough space to output large parts at once.
Additionally, its support for stronger materials is a huge advantage for props that need to maintain durability during events or photo shoots.
Architectural Models: Being able to print larger parts saves time when creating large architectural models.
Instead of connecting many small pieces, you can print larger parts that fit better and result in a cleaner finish.
Mass Printing: Due to the Arco's print speed, multiple parts can be easily printed at once in a single job.
Whether for small-batch production or printing multiple components simultaneously, it handles the workload without sacrificing speed.

The Arco is Phrozen's first FDM 3D printer, and its excellent performance is impressive!
It combines a 300 x 300 x 300 mm³ build volume with an amazing print speed of 600 mm/s and acceleration of 30,000 mm/s².
The CoreXY structure and reinforced frame maintain stability even during high-speed printing.
The patented Direct Extrusion Path (DEP) system shortens the distance between the gears and the heat source, ensuring smooth extrusion even with flexible materials like TPU.
If you need equipment that can efficiently handle large props, life-sized prototypes, and batch production, it is an ideal choice.

For creators who want to explore multi-color printing, the Chroma Kit expansion set offers even more flexibility.
Furthermore, with the open-source Klipper firmware, you can customize your printing process to meet the specific requirements of your project.
The Phrozen Arco provides the tools needed for large-scale printing while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
