After nearly a year of beta testing, 3D printer manufacturer Bambu Lab has officially launched its local area network management tool, Bambu Farm Manager .
This new software is designed for users who manage multiple 3D printers, allowing them to fully control their 3D printer fleet without relying on cloud connections.
The platform will be available for free download on May 27, 2025. It currently supports P1 , A1 and X1C 3D printers, and is expected to add support for X1E and H2D models later this year.

Bambu Labs ’ Farm Manager is designed to address growing concerns about data privacy and operational efficiency, allowing users to monitor and control printers directly over a local area network.
Its target customers are printing farms, educational institutions, businesses, and other organizations with high IT requirements.
The tool includes a server component that runs in the background 24/7 to maintain communication with the printer, and a client interface that allows users to manage printing operations.
"Farm Manager gives me and my clients complete control over where their data goes. It also makes managing the printer fleet a breeze and significantly reduces operating costs," said Korneel, a 3D service engineer and founder.
Features designed specifically for 3D printing at farm scale
Farm Manager’s key features include real-time monitoring, bulk control, availability-based smart job queues, document management tools, and power management options to optimize printer startup time.
These features are designed to be expanded to accommodate large printer fleets, with the only limitation being the user's local area network and system resources.
Bambu Lab emphasizes that all currently available features are free to use, but paid enhancements may be introduced in the future.
For Korneel, this software has proven its effectiveness.
The founder manages approximately 35 Bambu Lab 3D printers, and the number will increase to 45 as project demand grows.
His clientele includes manufacturers and artists, many of whom have stringent compliance requirements regarding privacy, data processing, and regulatory frameworks such as GDPR.
Prior to adopting Bambu Farm Manager, Korneel relied on cloud-based tools, which presented numerous issues with data storage, deletion, and telemetry.
He faces increasing pressure from clients who demand that design documents and printouts be kept entirely on-premises.
The existence of Bambu Farm Manager eliminates these concerns, removes the reliance on the cloud, and allows him to have complete control over customer files and system operations.
This system allows Korneel to streamline workflows without compromising security.
He can manage printers across segmented networks, monitor job progress through a unified dashboard, and ensure the security of data.
The system also supports rapid expansion, allowing him to add or remove machines with minimal resistance as needed for a project.
Korneel points out that hardware performance is also crucial.
Faster printing speeds and consistent output quality help him complete tasks on time and reduce rework, while low energy consumption and extremely low maintenance costs help improve overall cost-effectiveness.

Farm Manager Server operates in the background 24/7 and handles all communications with the printer.
Farm Manager Client is the interface you use to monitor and control your farm.
There is no hard limit to the number of printers you can connect, as long as your network and PC can handle it.
