Matterport 360 Scan - 3DMart Office
No assembly required, ready to scan out of the box.
The Matterport PRO2 3D 360 Scanner box contains the Matterport scanner, charging cable, and instruction manual. No assembly is required, just open the box and use it!
Simply mount the Matterport scanner on the optional carbon fiber/aluminum three-section camera tripod and scanner clamp, and you can start 360 scanning. Download the "Matterport Capture" 3D scanning software for the environment, specifically for the Matterport Pro2 3D scanner, connect it to the scanner via WiFi, and once ready, use an iOS or Android phone or tablet to easily scan with one click!
The Matterport dedicated three-section camera tripod can reach a maximum height of 160cm and can stably support the weight of the Matterport PRO2, ensuring stable operation of the 360 scanner and 360-degree rotation to capture images during scanning.
3 tips for beginners
When using Matterport for 360 scanning, choosing the correct scanning position will directly affect the quality of your guests' viewing experience. Imagine! Each fixed point of the scanner is the visitor's perspective. So, before scanning, you can simulate the actual walking path of the guests. Here are 3 tips for beginners to quickly get started:
I. Recommended distances for scan points
1. Distance between scan points: 1.5-2.5 m
2. Distance between scanner and wall/object: 60 cm (to effectively avoid distortion)
3. Scanning distance before and after threshold: 60-90 cm
Scan the space before entering and after entering the door. It is recommended not to set the scan point in the middle of the threshold.
II. Scan Path
1. It is recommended to move along a "straight line" for scan points to ensure smooth viewing for guests.
2. When scanning narrow corridors, the distance between the scanner and the wall/object should be at least 45 cm (to avoid alignment errors and distortion).
3. Scanner passing through "doors"
During the scanning process, open every door in the space (angle should be at least >45°)
III. Multi-floor scanning
When scanning multi-story buildings, it is recommended to move upwards from the "bottom floor".
Far view mode, fully upgraded (Latest feature as of 07/01/2021!)
The far view mode integrates the Dollhouse View, providing a bird's-eye view of the scanned space, which is the best and fastest way to understand the overall spatial structure; the updated far view mode allows direct preview of Labels (spatial area descriptions) without switching to close-up mode, within the far view Dollhouse mode. Whether it's spatial labeling, floor movement, or item descriptions, it's simpler and faster to review. Users can directly review all spatial details on one floor in far view mode.
Setup Steps:
Edit space > Settings > Advanced > Room Labels > Select "View labels in Dollhouse and Floor Plan views" > Publish
Android System Officially Launched
After the iOS version, the Matterport team launched the Android version of the "Matterport Capture" scanning software in March 2021.
