When selecting powder materials for SLS (Selective Laser Sintering), it is crucial to understand the mechanical and thermal properties of each material. The five indicators featured in this comparison—tensile strength, flexural strength, elongation at break, heat deflection temperature (HDT), and refresh ratio—have been carefully selected to reflect the characteristics that most significantly impact the SLS process.
We evaluate the suitability of powders for various applications. These five indicators are intended to capture a balance of mechanical properties, heat resistance, and cost-effectiveness. They serve as key factors for engineers, designers, and production managers in choosing the right material based on specific requirements.

| Explanation of Key Technical Indicators
1. Tensile Strength
Indicates the maximum stress a material can withstand before breaking when pulled. For users, it represents the printed part's ability to withstand tensile forces, which is important for snap-fits, housings, and structural components.
2. Flexural Strength
A measure of the bending force a material can withstand before failing. It is important for long, thin parts or beam-like components that may bend or deflect during use.
3. Elongation at Break
Indicates how much a material stretches before it breaks, serving as a measure of flexibility and ductility. A higher value indicates better flexibility and impact resistance, while a lower value indicates a harder, more brittle material.
4. Heat Deflection Temperature A (HDT A)
Indicates the temperature at which a material begins to deform under a specified load. Parts with a high HDT are suitable for use in high-temperature environments, such as engine compartments or electronic housings.
5. Refresh Ratio
Indicates how much new powder must be added to used material to maintain print quality. A lower value reduces powder usage costs and improves sustainability.
Regardless of the challenge, combining Sinterit powders with Sinterit Studio software provides a purpose-fit solution for precise, professional-quality SLS printing.
