[Cura Software] Version 4.9: Seamless Software Integration - Slice and Upload in One Go!
The latest Ultimaker Cura 4.9 update not only enhances the stability of previous versions but also integrates the Cura slicing software with the Ultimaker Digital Factory, featuring the new "Ultimaker Digital Library" system. This aims to provide users with a more convenient and faster way to improve 3D printing quality. Now, you can open files directly from the Cura interface and upload them to the online platform without switching pages, significantly reducing preparation time. With online remote control, you can start operating your 3D printer even when away from your workspace. Let's explore the 9 new features in detail:
.Seamless Software Integration: Ultimaker Digital Library
Before starting a 3D print, users first set the detailed model parameters as needed in the Ultimaker Cura slicing software. Then, the sliced 3D file is uploaded via Wi-Fi to the Ultimaker Digital Library, allowing remote initiation of printing on Ultimaker 3D printers (USB upload is also an option).

With the latest Cura 4.9 version, users can open files directly from the Digital Library within the Ultimaker Cura software. After settings are finalized, files can be directly exported to the Ultimaker Digital Factory > Digital Library without the need to switch between multiple pages. This further shortens the pre-preparation process and significantly boosts work efficiency.

(The Ultimaker Digital Library allows you to manage 3D print files for private access or online sharing.)
In the latest Cura 4.9 version, Ultimaker has enhanced model detail settings and visual display methods, improving 3D printing accuracy and precision when checking details. It features 8 new functions:
1. Automatic Preview, No Manual Switching: Line Type Display
In previous Cura versions, users had to manually switch to the Line Type display in Preview mode. The system would then display different structures like infill, supports, and the printed object with different colored lines. With this update, Line Type preview is now the default display, allowing users to see print content at a glance upon opening the screen.

2. Automatic Display of 3D Print Start Position
The Ultimaker Cura display system has been enhanced to show model details more clearly, automatically displaying the actual 3D print starting position. Users can check the tool path during the pre-print preparation phase, improving the success rate of every 3D print.
3. Marking and Checking Layer Seams
Due to layer compression during printing, slight seams can occur between materials in 3D printing filaments. The system now displays these as "white Z-shaped" icons, allowing users to see small marks on each layer. This enables real-time verification that seams are fully hidden, ensuring the quality of the finished 3D print.

4. Real-time Notifications for Latest Features
Upon logging into Ultimaker Cura, a "notification light" has been added to the interface, allowing you to check for new update features at any time.
5. Material Weight Displayed as Percentage
You can now gain a more detailed understanding of the amount of material used, which is particularly helpful for complex shapes and small models.
6. Added Settings for Third-Party 3D Printers
Ultimaker has added 18 settings for third-party 3D printers, reducing setup time and improving efficiency.
