【Document Scan Guide】Digitize books with <strong>CZUR</strong>—no need to type data entry one character at a time!

3DMART |

Is it necessary to digitize books and documents or input data character by character? Household registration offices, archives, libraries, police stations, schools, and cram schools all need to digitize and store various important documents every day. Scanning with a standard copier often results in tilted images due to slight misalignment, and manual input is extremely time-consuming... What should you do when you have to finish before the end of the workday!? CZUR can solve this. Our intelligent document scanners support page-turn detection, automatic page feeding, and AI-powered book curve flattening. The scanning method is also very simple. Detailed instructions are introduced below:

1. Package Contents:
2. Hand-operated scan button (with connection cable)
3. Foot pedal for scanning (with connection cable)
3. Dedicated finger cots
4. Power cable
5. USB cable for computer connection
6. Side lights

2. Preparation
1. Equipment Assembly: Simply assemble the laser light bar, hard document mat, and side lights.

(Scanning ID cards, magazines, glossy paper, or shiny books may cause reflections. Please turn off the top light and turn on the side lights.)

2. Powering On: Connect the hand-operated scan button cable (or the foot pedal; choose either one), the computer connection cable, and the power cable to the ports on the back of the device, then turn on the power switch located on the bottom rear.

3. Book Cradle: When scanning books of a certain thickness, natural curves will occur on the left and right sides. You can use the included CZUR M3000 Pro "V-shaped book cradle" to hold them in place. For flat, single-sheet documents, simply place them within the scanning range.

4. Positioning Books/Documents: Place the book on the work surface and check the M3000's LCD screen to ensure the black scanning mat covers the entire screen area. By ensuring that the desk surface or unnecessary objects are not visible in the preview, the scanner’s intelligent algorithm will function correctly.

3. Using the Software
1. Install the dedicated CZUR Scanner software (download here): Although the software is in Chinese rather than Japanese, the functions are intuitive and easy to understand, making it beginner-friendly. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to operate it.
2. Launch the Software:
Launch the CZUR Scanner software on your computer, select "Scanner," and click "Scan" in the upper left to see the scanning screen in real time.

3. Color Modes:
Supports Color, Black & White, Grayscale, Stamp mode, Pattern mode, and Image mode.

4. Paper Types:
Equipped with various features including flat paper, curved books, combining front and back pages, selected area scanning, and settings to process documents as-is.

5. Select the "Color Mode" and "Processing Method" on the right, configure settings according to your needs, and click the icon in the bottom right to start scanning.

The CZUR series scanners are equipped with AI flattening technology; the software automatically displays "book split lines." Align the book with the center line, and the system intelligently detects the actual curvature of the pages, automatically flattening them to produce an image as if it were scanned flat.

4. Scanning Procedure
Taking a book as an example, after aligning the document, flip to the desired page, and press either the scan button, the foot pedal, or the scan button on the software to complete the scan. Two-page spreads are scanned in an average of 1.2 seconds. After each scan, the software automatically displays the result.

5. Converting to Text Files
The CZUR M3000 Pro features an AI intelligent system that uses OCR (supporting 187 languages) to directly convert scanned image files into formats such as Word, Excel, PDF, TIFF, or TXT.

Select "Scanner" mode in the software and click on a scanned file. Select "Export" > "Word (OCR)" from the function menu on the left to immediately retrieve a text file of that page.

6. How to Use Finger Cots
When scanning thick books like dictionaries or encyclopedias, the pages might move due to the curve when you flip them, making them difficult to hold in place. Also, if you use your fingers, the scanner might detect them. Use the yellow "dedicated finger cots" to press the edges of the book; no post-processing is needed, as the software automatically erases the finger cots from the scan.

(Pre-scan settings: Paper Settings > Remove Finger > Put on Finger Cots)
