Master these five tips for flawless 3D printing : Make good use of Ultimaker Cura software; the devil is in the details, and these tricks will be revealed:

Not long ago, I shared with you the details of the X-ray perspective and layer preview modes in Cura software ( click to see ). In the layer preview mode, the 3D model will display four colors, namely Material Color, Feedrate, Layer thickness, and Line Type.
The line mode includes five display colors: auxiliary (cyan), bottom/top (yellow), shell (red), fill (orange), and nozzle trail (light purple/blue). Learn them now to instantly understand the status of your 3D model:
Auxiliary structure (cyan)
The supporting structure, the contact surface between the object and the platform, and the wire changing tower will be displayed in cyan.
Outer shell (red)
To avoid confusion with the object's internal structure, the outer shell is displayed in red, while the inner layer, which lies between the internal filling structure and the outer shell, is displayed in green; this allows for adjustments to the overall detail and also helps to make the slicing process clearer.
Bottom/Top (Yellow)
The horizontal parts of the 3D model will be displayed in yellow, including the top and bottom.
• Filled structure (orange)
When 3D printing hollow objects, an internal filling structure is needed as the main framework. Ultimaker Cura offers different filling modes, and the density can be modified according to requirements.
Nozzle movement (light purple/blue)
During 3D printing , you can preview the movement of the nozzle. The blue line represents the movement trajectory of the printhead, and the light purple line represents the movement of the filament retraction. This function can effectively prevent the nozzle from extruding excessive 3D printing filament during the 3D printing process.
Learning more isn't as important as mastering the skills. A deep understanding of the features in the Ultimaker Cura software and effective use of them will not only enable a wider range of applications with the Ultimaker dual-head 3D printer , but also allow for the effective avoidance and correction of errors before printing, significantly improving efficiency and saving on 3D printing filament costs.
