[Hands-on and Operation Guide] Phrozen Mighty Complete Guide: 3D Print Movable Models Too!
Want to move articulated joints freely? Watch the video and you'll quickly master it, no more need to read the manual! We've previously used 3D printing to create "Star Wars" Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, and Phrozen Sonic Mighty 3D Printer's results were actually verified (click here). This time, we will 3D print an eight-legged octopus with "articulated joints." Here's a complete Japanese operation guide for the Phrozen Sonic Mighty.
(Skip the operation instructions! From 03:50, you can see the finished results)
1. Z-axis Calibration (Video 00:19)
After unboxing, place the 3D printer on a stable surface, remove the protective film, open the full-cover top lid, and take out the accessories. You'll find all the necessary tools: connecting cables, scrapers, gloves, funnels, USB, and more.
1. Loosen the fixing screws
Remove the resin vat and loosen the fixing screws on the print platform (no need to remove the platform itself).
2. Place paper and start with one touch
Place a sheet of paper on the LCD panel, then tap "Tool" > "Z Calib" on the touchscreen. The print platform will automatically lower until it firmly touches the bottom LCD panel.
3. Tighten screws and raise the platform
Once the paper and the LCD panel are firmly pressed together, tighten the four screws on the left and right sides of the platform. Finally, tap "Done" on the screen, and the platform will rise again, completing the calibration.
(Confirm the above 3 steps and ensure the bottom LCD curing light is on. Finally, install the resin vat, and you can start printing.)
2. 3D Model Slicing (Video 01:09)
For the Phrozen Sonic Mighty, we use the CHITUBOX (CHITUBOX) slicing software.
1. Click "Settings" to open the settings window.
2. Click the "Add" icon to open the device selection window and select your 3D printer, "Phrozen Sonic Mighty 4K."
3. Select the resin you will use. (Click here: Phrozen Sonic Mighty 4K Resin Settings)
4. Load the 3D model file and open the "Support Creation" screen. You can use the support creation function to adjust detailed parameters according to your preferences and printing conditions.
5. Once settings are complete, drag the slider on the right to review and simulate the actual build process. Before starting 3D printing, ensure that adequate supports are fully generated for all overhangs of your model.
Finally, click "Slice" to create the sliced file of your model. Once the software finishes processing, it will display detailed information such as the type of resin used and the print time. Save the file to a USB drive (save with the ".ctb" extension) and load it into the Phrozen Sonic Mighty 4K to start printing.
3. Machine Operation (Video 02:42)
1. Pour the resin
Pour resin into the resin tank and stir it evenly with a scraper.
2. Close the full-cover lid
3. Upload the file
Insert the USB drive and load the 3D model file.

4. Post-processing of the finished product (Video 03:08)
Once light-curing 3D printing is complete, there will be residual resin on the model surface. Use a UV post-curing unit to cure the model, then remove the model's support structures.
