[3D Printing] Bambu Lab's printing platform "MakerWorld" sets a new standard for publishing print profiles.
Bambu Labs' 3D printing platform, MakerWorld, has introduced a new standard for print profiles. This move aims to improve the quality of content on the platform.
This change will affect all users sharing configuration files on the platform and is intended to improve the reliability and quality of 3D printing.

The new standard, which took effect on October 9, requires creators to review and adjust their existing profiles if necessary.
MakerWorld is responding to community feedback to provide users with more consistent and higher-quality printing results.

The following will introduce the new standard for print profiles introduced by MakerWorld:
1. The print profile must contain the actual image to be printed.
When uploading a print profile, MakerWorld requires creators to provide at least one real photograph of the model printed using this print profile.
The goal is to demonstrate its printability. This not only gives users more confidence to print it, but also makes the print profile more appealing.

*Please note that models created using non-FDM 3D printers will be considered invalid physical photographs.
2. Choose a meaningful name
Choose a name that reflects the main characteristics of your profile so that others can easily select from these printed profiles.
example:
• 4 colors, adjustable support, 0.16mm layer count
• 4 colors, adjustable support, 0.16mm layer count
• Suitable for A1 mini, layer thickness 0.24mm, edge 5mm.
3. High-quality print profile
Examples of high-quality print profiles include:
• Customized print profiles are based on carefully adjusted settings and test results.
• It represents a significant improvement over existing print profiles in terms of print reliability, part orientation, support optimization, and model integrity.
• Carefully paint the model.

4. Separate versions on different disks (not mandatory)
If your model has variations, place each variation on a separate board and name it accordingly.
This will allow users to easily select the version they need.
This will allow users to easily select the version they need.

5. Upload the first print configuration file of the model.
If the model does not have any existing print settings files, please upload them first.
❌ Prohibited Activities
1. Upload print configuration files with obvious quality issues.
The printing profile has obvious defects, such as lack of necessary support, obvious printing quality defects in the actual photos, and lack of necessary parts, which leads to printing failure or inability to assemble normally.
2. 3MF file, title, description, or model mismatch.
Avoid uploading print profiles to incorrect models or submitting 3MF files that do not match their titles or descriptions.
3. Repeatedly upload print configuration files
Avoid re-uploading your own or others' print profiles. Minor adjustments to existing print profiles that do not add substantial value will be considered duplicates and deleted.
4. Upload multiple print configuration files compatible with the printer model.
For example, if a print configuration file already exists for the X1C, there is no need to upload a new configuration file for the P1S. For printer models such as the X1 series/P1 series, one print configuration file is sufficient.
5. Only change the consumable or print plate type in the update configuration file.
This can be considered a duplicate print profile and can be deleted. Uploading profiles with minor modifications is not recommended.
6. Unnecessarily copying the model
Bambu Handy and Bambu Studio have a copy function, so there is no need to copy the model and upload it as a new print profile.
7. The single-color version is applicable to multi-color models.
If a multicolor printing profile is already available, there is no need to upload a single-color profile.
Users can choose to print in a single color in Bambu Handy, which will not produce a wipe tower, or they can choose to print in only one color in Bambu Studio, which also avoids the need for a wipe tower.
Such uploads will be considered duplicate profiles and will be deleted.
8. Split the model into multiple print profiles and upload them.
If a model has multiple parts, putting them in a single print profile prevents users from omitting any parts during the printing process. Furthermore, it helps maintain a cleaner, more organized model page.
An exception is when a component of the model has multiple variations; you can upload variations as separate print profiles, but it is recommended to upload variations as separate plates within the print profile and name the plates accordingly.
9. Print configuration file names must conform to the following naming conventions:
• Prohibited clauses: Terms indicating special speed ("fast", "quick", "instant"), comparative advantage ("better", "faster"), guarantee ("guarantee", "assurance"), exclusivity ("exclusivity", "privilege"), or official status ("official", "verified") are not permitted.
• Misleading claims: Unverified, exaggerated, or potentially misleading claims are prohibited. This includes claims of “best,” “top,” “first,” “100% success,” or “perfect” performance.
• Brand restrictions: Misleading brand-related logos, characters, or terms are strictly prohibited to avoid creating the false impression of affiliation or endorsement.
The comprehensive documentation on the MakerWorld wiki page summarizes the detailed requirements for printing profiles. There, users will find the specific technical specifications that must be followed when creating and updating profiles.

The platform relies on community collaboration to enforce the new standards. Profiles that do not comply with the updated guidelines after the deadline may be reported and deleted. This underscores MakerWorld's emphasis on adhering to these quality standards.
