Formlabs Form Studio 1 Resin Tank
There are two types of resin tanks for the Form Studio 1: the Standard version and the Pro version. Designed to align with the chemical compatibility and material workflows of each resin, they make material switching, resin storage, and daily printing on the Form Studio 1 more efficient.
Form Studio 1 Resin Tank
The Form Studio 1 Resin Tank is a robust, flexible resin tank designed for high-speed printing and precise detail reproduction.
Each resin tank comes with a reusable lid, allowing for the safe storage of resin outside the printer, as well as the ability to stack multiple tanks for organized storage.
If you use multiple colors or types of resin, you can maintain a dedicated tank for each. When switching materials, simply remove the current tank and slide in another to quickly start your next print.
Compatible Materials for the Standard Resin Tank
This version is optimized for chemical compatibility and supports the following resins for the Form Studio 1:
- Alpha Resin Series
- Flexible 80A Resin V2
- True Cast Resin
Designed for at least 75,000 layers of printing
The Form Studio 1 standard resin tank can maintain stable performance for at least 75,000 layers of printing.
Based on an average model height of 39 mm and a layer thickness of 100 μm, this is equivalent to approximately 190 prints.
Form Studio 1 Resin Tank Pro
The Form Studio 1 Resin Tank Pro also features a robust, flexible tank construction. It is designed with chemical compatibility for a wider range of materials in mind, making it suitable for Tough 1500 Resin V2 and materials that require Open Material Mode.
The Resin Tank Pro also includes a reusable lid, which is convenient for storing resin outside the printer or stacking for storage.
By using a dedicated tank for each resin, you only need to swap tanks to switch materials. This eliminates the need to empty the tank of resin each time, further simplifying multi-material workflows.
When to Use the Resin Tank Pro
- When using Tough 1500 Resin V2.
- When using materials that require Open Material Mode.
- For workflows requiring chemical compatibility with a wider range of materials.
- When frequently conducting material development, testing, or utilizing third-party materials.
The Pro Version also supports at least 75,000 layers of printing
The Form Studio 1 Resin Tank Pro can maintain stable performance for at least 75,000 layers of printing.
Based on an average model height of 39 mm and a layer thickness of 100 μm, this is equivalent to approximately 190 prints.

How to Choose the Right Form Studio 1 Resin Tank
Choosing the Standard Resin Tank
If you primarily use Alpha resin, Flexible 80A Resin V2, or True Cast Resin, the Standard version is sufficient for general Form Studio 1 printing needs.
Choosing the Resin Tank Pro
We recommend the Pro version if you use Tough 1500 Resin V2, require Open Material Mode, or use a wider variety of third-party materials.
