[3D Printing Workshop] 2025 NTU Electrical Engineering Makers' Workshop Review
I am delighted to participate again in the 2025 NTU Electrical Engineering Makers' Workshop (MakeNTU).
To ensure the smooth running of the Makers' Competition in May, students first participated in learning the basic concepts and knowledge of 3D printing, thereby achieving the goal of being able to apply them smoothly on the day of the competition. The 3DMark team prepared teaching on slicing software, as well as introductions and guidance on physical equipment.

The theme of MakeNTU 2025 is hEphaEstus.
hEphaEstus comes from Hephaestus, the Greek god of fire and forging. As a symbol of creativity and skill, Hephaestus was adept at transforming various materials into powerful and practical tools and equipment to solve the problems he faced.
This embodies the Maker spirit advocated by Make NTU: combining hardware and software technology with creativity, daring to explore and innovate, and creating unique and practical works.
We hope that participants can be like Hephaestus, bravely facing challenges, applying their knowledge and skills to real life, making good use of existing hardware and software technologies, transforming their ideas into actual creations, and using their creativity to solve practical problems.
Through repeated discovery and creation, we come to understand MakeNTU's original intention: We need it, we make it.

This workshop will teach the Banbu Lab 3D printer series: X1 Carbon Combo , P1S Combo , and X1E 3D printers .
The Bambu Lab 3D printer boasts both printing speed and quality, along with very simple and intuitive software operation , making it ideal for high-intensity and tight competition scenarios.
In the past, installing, calibrating, testing, and slicing software for 3D printers, along with cumbersome parameter settings, took a lot of time. However, with Bambu Lab, this process can be completed in 20 to 30 minutes.
This allows contestants to turn various creative ideas into reality in a short time. Contestants do not need overly professional knowledge to print finished products using its powerful functions, thus focusing more on product design itself, realizing their innovative concepts, and transforming them into concrete practical works.

In addition to introducing the features and usage of the equipment, the instructor also carefully explained the execution steps of the slicing software "Bambu Studio" and the parameters of various printed objects.
Includes: floor height, internal and external strength, support, printing speed, etc.
Students can also use the samples we made on-site to observe more directly and then apply or provide feedback to their entries in the competition.
We hope that the contestants can fully realize their potential through the accumulation of knowledge and experience and create amazing works!
