The King Car Cultural and Educational Foundation established the King Car Arts Center in 2008. The King Car Arts Center aims to support local Taiwanese art and literature, encourage youth creation, provide a comprehensive platform, and strive to enhance the aesthetics of the general public. The King Car Arts Center has three exhibition spaces: the Nanjing Pavilion and Chengde Pavilion in Taipei, and the Yuanshan Pavilion in Yilan, each with its own unique exhibition features.
The exhibitions are quite diverse, featuring mixed media artworks such as sculptures, prints, three-dimensional works, and videos. The Chengde Museum in Taipei, in addition to its regular exhibitions, also regularly hosts creative and artistic lectures and events, inviting renowned figures from the design and art worlds to share their creative insights. Furthermore, it discovers more creators in Taiwan by holding various design competitions, based on life experiences and creativity.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, exhibitions at the King Car Art Centre have been suspended due to government policies. All the exhibitions that had been arranged were temporarily put on hold. The team searched for various alternatives so that the artists' exhibitions could still be held online as scheduled during the pandemic.

In preparation for the online exhibition, the King Car Arts Centre considered many different online exhibition models. In addition to simply displaying images on the official website, it also hoped to provide visitors with a better experience. Therefore, through Matterport panoramic scanning , the Arts Centre's exhibition space was transformed into a virtual reality space. Using only a mobile phone or tablet, visitors can freely move between the exhibition space and interact directly with the works online. They can also view each artwork in high definition. When they see a work they like, visitors can simply adjust the angle and zoom the screen to view the details.

Moreover, in the panoramic art museum, each work is marked with a Mattertag. Simply move the mouse over the mark and the screen will automatically display an introduction to the work, which can be seen at a glance, including the name, the media used, and the actual size.

The planning specialist at the King Car Arts Center mentioned that the exhibition hall is located in Taipei, and not everyone can visit during every exhibition. Through Matterport surround view scanning , people from other cities and counties can also visit online, and even all of Taiwan and the world can see all the exhibitions of the Arts Center. The reason for deciding to purchase the Matterport Pro2 3D surround view scanner is not only to cope with the pandemic situation, but also to promote through virtual online mode. Even after the pandemic, it can be promoted in a faster and more transparent way, so that the world can see the excellent exhibited works of young artists.
As the Level 3 COVID-19 alert is gradually lifted, the Arts Centre hopes to use 3D panoramic scanning to present online virtual exhibitions as previews of exhibitions, bringing the general public closer to art. Matterport's scanning effects are more interactive than print advertisements such as magazines and books, allowing visitors to experience a dual sensory experience and outcome through online and offline displays!
King Car Arts Center provides a completely free stage for young Taiwanese artists. Every July, artists can apply for exhibition space. Anyone aged 20-40 can apply. Through review, interviews, and professional training courses, the center provides each artist with comprehensive planning from pre-production, production, and post-production to exhibition setup.
