[3D Printing] MakerWorld creates a Christmas atmosphere with MakerLab Ornament Maker.
3D printer manufacturer Bambu Lab has launched a "Christmas Decoration Maker," a creative tool designed to personalize Christmas decorations.
During the Christmas season, the Christmas Ornament Maker celebration is in full swing at MakerWorld.
To create a Christmas atmosphere, users can use MakerLab tools, which are specifically designed for the Christmas season, to create Christmas decorations.
This is a free MakerLab tool that allows users to create custom "rotatable" Christmas tree ornaments, and includes a range of elements that users can freely customize.
Christmas Ornament Maker
Released on November 28, 2024, as part of the Makerlab platform, the tool enables 3D printing enthusiasts to create unique and vibrant Christmas decorations that reflect their style and creativity.
The tool is as simple to use as it sounds.
Users can choose from openwork or solid color decorative styles, as well as various regular colors and Christmas colors.
It also offers extensive customization options, including adding text using a variety of pre-ordered fonts, stickers, and emojis (from a comprehensive library of Christmas-themed graphics), as well as uploading custom SVG files for a more personalized design.
Users can further enhance their decorations by determining the number of rings, creating a dynamic rotating effect.
This tool supports multi-color designs, ensuring that every piece has a beautiful, festive look.
We also tried it out ourselves, and the whole process was easy to learn and smooth. The process of freely defining content and unleashing creativity was therapeutic.
When choosing to use a cutout design, pay special attention to whether the suspended parts of the image or text are connected to other parts to prevent the printed product from failing.
If you encounter a suspended state, you can use small images as bridging points, or add a background layer for support.

Each ornament can have up to four rotating rings printed on it, forming a hanging ornament with a rotating function.
When it's hung on the Christmas tree and spinning, it's sure to amaze your guests, or at least attract your cat.
The tool is free for MakerWorld users, but is only available during the holiday season.
In addition to this tool release, Bambu Lab has also adjusted the prices of its range of 3D printers, making it a great time to buy, whether for personal use or as a gift, adding extra joy to the holiday season.
3D printing industry embraces the festive atmosphere
For a long time, holiday seasons have inspired creativity within the 3D printing community, with companies leveraging this enthusiasm by hosting challenges and providing tools that encourage personalization and innovation.
For example, 3D design software company Vectary partnered with MyMiniFactory to host a Christmas decoration 3D design holiday challenge .
Participants submitted their work using Vectary's browser-based 3D design platform to compete for prizes such as a MakeX M-Jewelry 3D printer worth over $3,500.
The prize categories encourage creators to share YouTube tutorials that highlight their workflow.
To foster creativity, Vectary provides templates and video guides to make the festival an engaging and easily understood experience for all participants.
Back in 2014, i.materialise, an online 3D printing service provider, held an annual Christmas challenge, inviting participants to design 3D printed decorations for the holiday season.
The design needs to be for polyamide, and the dimensions should be within 10 x 10 x 10 cm.
The winner will receive a print of their design, a €50 i.materialise print voucher, an Autodesk Premium membership, and an Instructables Pro membership.
Various competitions encourage creativity, proposing themes ranging from traditional Christmas to unique interpretations, and continuously injecting new vitality into the 3D printing industry.
