Duke Doks, a motion graphics designer from Madrid, Spain, loves to use different creative methods to develop products and has designed various unique LED neon lights. This time, he tried using 3D modeling software for the first time to design a hexagonal light fixture.
We put the 3D model file designed by Dukes into the Ultimaker Cura slicing software , and adjusted the actual printing position of the model in the software. This allows us to complete the upper and lower shells of the lamp in one 3D printing job!
Simply 3D print one model and use the FormBox vacuum forming machine to infinitely replicate a large number of vacuum forming molds, which is very convenient and fast!
Dukes wires LED light strips into the 3D-printed base of the lamp, then arranges all the hexagons according to preference, and finally puts on the vacuum-formed outer shell. Turn on the LED light strip power, and a psychedelic visual feast is about to begin!
The lampshade, made of white injection-molded sheet , creates a hazy halo effect when it covers the LED light strip, which is visually very soothing. It can be used as an interior design decoration, night light, party accessory, or art piece without feeling out of place!
