[3D Printing] Bambu Lab launches a new crowdfunding platform to help you realize your wildest 3D printing ideas.

Beyond Kickstarter, Bambu LabsMakerWorld platform offers new crowdfunding capabilities for your best 3D printing projects.
Bambu Lab's MakerWorld, a Kickstarter-like platform, features crowdfunding to help creators bring their printing projects to life with a little funding from fellow makers.

If you need some funding to bring your groundbreaking 3D printing project from concept to reality, Bambu Lab knows exactly what to do.
This company has just launched what it calls the "Perfect Testing Ground," which turns your wildest ideas into reality.

Why does it exist?
Bambu Lab stated on its blog: "We've seen many incredibly good ideas that ultimately couldn't be implemented because they were too big, too complex, or required resources that the individual creators didn't have."
This new initiative enables the 3D printing community to support projects through financial commitments.

To support a maker, you need to upload your credit card information, and then you will be charged a pledge amount (starting at about $10) if the project reaches its funding goal.
However, please note that, as with Kickstarter, your donation will be seen as support for the creator's efforts to bring new ideas to life, not as a purchase of a finished product.
Therefore, no refund will be given if the project is ultimately not delivered.

Bambu Lab stated in its disclaimer: "You are supporting an ambitious and unproven creative project."
Even if creators do their best, there is still a risk that the rewards may not materialize.

Most projects offer symbolic rewards to supporters as a way of thanking them for their financial contributions.
The rewards take various forms, but some may include physical models of the project, exclusive digital archives, behind-the-scenes tutorials, and customized 3D prints.
Neither MakerWorld nor the creators guarantee rewards or compensation.

Bambu Lab stated that the 3D printing community has always been committed to knowledge sharing and encouraging each other to try new things.
“Crowdfunding seems like the natural next step. It’s a way to pool resources to support the projects we’re most passionate about.”

How does it work?
The process is very simple.
Creators can launch crowdfunding campaigns for their upcoming projects, setting fundraising goals and timelines.
Community members browsed these activities and pledged their support for projects they wished to complete.
This service is effective because it connects creators directly with the people who value their work most.
No need to guess what the community needs—they demonstrate your needs by supporting your projects.

For creators:
Promote your project – Submit a detailed proposal outlining your idea. What is your model? What makes it unique? How will you use the funding?
Please remember that high-quality visuals are very helpful in promoting your project and attracting more support.

Set a goal - Set a funding goal that covers actual costs, such as software licensing, materials, or the time required to complete all the details.
Choose a timeframe that suits you: 30 days, 45 days, or 60 days. Please be specific; supporters appreciate clear goals!
Create rewards - provide tiered benefits to thank supporters.
Don't limit yourself to generic models; consider exclusive digital files, behind-the-scenes tutorials, custom 3D prints based on your designs, DIY kits, or even custom 3D printed items. The more personalized, the better.
Launch and Connect - Your project is ready to go live once approved! Please be open and transparent about how funds are used and any challenges you may face.
Continuously updating information and actively responding to comments helps build trust and manage expectations. We will promote excellent projects both on and off the platform to help you achieve your goals.

For supporters:
Browse active events and discover projects that excite you, commit to support them, and receive exclusive perks such as early downloads or special editions.
Join creators in bringing their ideas to life! Connect with other supporters who share the same vision.

While anyone can launch a crowdfunding campaign, Bambu Lab is currently only accepting invitations "to ensure a smooth launch of this new feature."
To submit your ideas for consideration, please send a brief description of your project, along with any visuals or renders, to models@makerworld.com, and indicate "Crowdfunding Project Application" in the subject line.

Other projects on MakerWorld’s newly launched “Crowdfunding” tab include games, a lamp, a wallet, a keyboard, and various models, all of which are hoping to receive hundreds of dollars in funding.
Similar to the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, MakerWorld Crowdfunding also offers a wealth of information.
Bambu Lab requires each project creator to provide as much detailed information as possible, including pictures and videos, materials required for the project (software licenses, materials, etc.), project duration (30 to 60 days), and benefits available to supporters.

Bambu Lab stated that they encourage creators to continuously update the platform and actively respond to comments on the platform in order to build trust and manage expectations.
"We will promote outstanding projects both on and off the platform to help you achieve your goals."
This Kickstarter-like platform echoes the Patreon-like functionality launched by Bambu Lab earlier this year at MakerWorld, offering commercial license memberships that run alongside its popular library of free 3D models.

Vision
Bambu Lab hopes to see projects that require real thought, design, and engineering realized through crowdfunding.

These projects often fail because the effort required by one person is too arduous, and it's uncertain whether anyone will appreciate it.
Crowdfunding can change this situation.

Bambu Lab is looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Nobody knows what kind of projects creators will produce, or what the community will support the most.
Will this encourage more collaboration among creators? They certainly hope so!
The future will tell us the answer, and that's what's exciting.
