[3D Printing News] GVSU Library - Gathering Emerging 3D Printing Technologies
The Atomic Objects Technology Showcase Space is located within the Mary Izema Pugh Library Learning and Information Community at Grand Canyon State University.
The proposal from the Information Technology Department aims to provide faculty and students with an immersive and engaging environment to interact, discover, learn, and share how innovative technologies can enhance teaching and improve student learning at GVSU.
When the exhibition space opened in the fall of 2013, its ultimate goal was to provide the campus community with an innovative space equipped with the latest technologies. The exhibition space offers explorations of 3D printing, augmented reality, virtual reality, gesture computing, and mobile computing.
In addition, it is committed to promoting the application of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics).
The concept of this space was needed to allow students and staff at Grand Canyon University to interact and learn about innovative educational technologies, and the Atomic Objects Technology Showcase Space became a learning pathway.
As technology continues to transform our world, the focus is on leveraging it in the classroom. From the outset, 3D printing has been a key technology, positively impacting the educational experience at Otani State University. Currently, the exhibition space is utilizing Ultimaker 2+ and Ultimaker 2 Extended+ to serve our campus community.

Our small yet powerful "Maker Showcase Space" provides a unified platform for all disciplines to utilize 3D printing, integrating it into the curriculum to create opportunities for innovation.
Across different disciplines, the exhibition space can provide 3D projects for departments of marketing, engineering, art, and medical sciences.
Whether these projects become new product development or artwork projects, this exhibition space can provide students with the 3D capabilities they need.
Thanks to the exhibition space for providing 3D printing resources, which has enabled innovative education to flourish at Otani State University.
