[3D Printing News] Make48 competition utilizes 3D printing technology to realize creative ideas.
Ultimaker has been a part of every Make48 since 2015, and we are proud to be a part of the competition again this year!
What is Make48? It's a 48-hour invention competition that gives teams of 2 to 4 people a problem and then gives them 48 hours to design a new product that solves the problem.
Participants are also responsible for developing a business plan and submitting their product to the judging panel at the end of the 48-hour period, explaining why it is the best solution.
Throughout the process, the team can use multiple Ultimaker printers for prototyping and parts design, including Ultimaker 2+ and Ultimaker 3 . 
The Ultimaker printer is available for use by Make48 contestants.
The entire process provides competing teams with a great opportunity to understand how digital production tools (such as Ultimaker) can accelerate their workflow when creating new products.
Including our past involvement, we are excited to be able to differentiate ourselves and demonstrate that 3D printers are invaluable high-tech tools in the process of creating functional prototypes .
Within 48 hours, the team can also access the "Tool Technicians" page to help them overcome bottlenecks and fill any missing skills.
Five rounds of the competition have been completed so far, and the team behind Make48 decided to document the process from the very beginning because it proves that time constraints can accelerate the pace of education.
Make48's goal is to foster a learning environment and share the benefits of the competition with people beyond the participants, which is why they recently started using 48...
The activity records of the hours were made into a suitable "Make48" program. 
The series was immediately accelerated, with the eight-episode premiere season beginning in September of this year on PBS in the United States.
Make48 is projected to reach 80% of the U.S. public television market, or approximately 95 million households by the end of the first quarter!
Viewers will be able to see not only the creation of a product, but also everything involved in its production and sale to consumers.
