[3D Printing News] Ultimaker Cura 4.3 official version is now available for download!

After receiving feedback from many users regarding the previous beta version, the brand new official version of Ultimaker Cura 4.3 has been released. It's constantly updated, completely free, and the link is at the end of this article! Now let's take a look at the confirmed new features of Cura 4.3.

Using S-series 3D printers

The new version of Cura 4.3 has added parameter settings for the newly launched S-series 3D printers , and includes an integrated system for the Ultimaker S3 3D printer and Ultimaker S5 Pro Bundle . It also fully connects to Ultimaker Cura, Connect and Ultimaker Cloud for cloud control, making your 3D printing jobs more convenient.

More 3D files

The new Cura 4.3 supports more file formats than before, allowing you to directly integrate CAD drawings, 3D scans , and 3D model files into your workflow, such as Collada, GLTF, OpenCTM, and PLY. You can also download more plugins from the Marketplace.

Align Printing Platform

One of the features introduced in the beta version is the ability to directly select the 3D print plane you want to place at the bottom and align it with one click, saving you the trouble of rotating and aligning, and overcoming the problem of difficulty in selecting facets in complex objects.

Adjust support angle

Do the printed shapes of the support material and filler have to be equilateral triangles? If you have other requirements, you can now set the desired angle for these line types in the new Cura 4.3.

Random Fill

Randomly configuring the starting point of each fill line layer can evenly distribute the strength and smoothness of the object, but it will slightly increase the 3D printing time.

Special for small items

For printing ultra-small objects with apertures and vertical structures, the small bottom contact area makes them easier to separate from the platform; this setting can slow down the printing speed and improve stability and success rate only for small objects.

Custom Z-axis joint

The custom Z-axis seam line has been added to the "Custom Mode" menu, which can be adjusted according to the needs of the object. For example, the Z-axis seam can be placed inside the object to make the sample prototype more aesthetically pleasing.

Colorblindness Auxiliary Color

To make it easier for colorblind users to use Cura Slicing software, a new extension plugin enhances the contrast between colors, such as making the yellow and green lines in the layer view more prominent, allowing them to freely use 3D printing .

Bug Fixes

This version addresses some issues reported by users in the past, including bug fixes such as delayed closing icons for some programs; thanks to feedback from millions of users worldwide, Cura Slicer software can provide a better experience with each update .
