Introduction to major expert platforms
This evaluation of FDM 3D printers was conducted by three platforms with different experts: AII3DP , CNET , and Toms's Hardware . Why are their evaluations credible? The following will explain each one!
All3DP is the number one digital manufacturer magazine, providing professional and insightful content on 3D printing , 3D scanning , CAD, laser cutting/engraving , CNC , SBC, and more, and frequently publishing credible global product comparisons.
CNET is the #1 technology media outlet, a trusted digital media publication with 73 million monthly pageviews in the U.S., providing expert information, commentary, and analysis on consumer technology, services, and trends, offering professional advice to help consumers make informed decisions.
Tom's Hardware is the go-to destination for tech enthusiasts of all skill levels. More than just a PC manufacturer's website, it 's renowned for its benchmarking, thorough component testing and reviews, and a rigorous, quantifiable set of tests . It also expands its coverage to cater to a wider range of enthusiasts with varying needs and experience levels. Tom's Hardware has received a 100 out of 100 rating from NewsGuard, a service that rates news outlets according to journalistic standards.
Based on evaluations from three testing platforms, the P1S is the best overall 3D printer. Whether considering performance, price, or quality, it outperforms other machines. This is an upgraded version of the previous CNET Best 3D Printer winner, the P1P. Upgrades such as the plastic side panels, glass top cover and door, camera, some fans, and LED lights make the P1S a top choice across various platforms. The model quality and printing speed are astonishing; CNET states that few printers can achieve these two points at a similar price!

Modern 3D printers prioritize speed, and Bambu Labs ' P1S printer boasts a maximum print speed of 500 mm/s and an acceleration of 20,000 mm/s . How fast is it? Well, its turbine button is labeled "Ludicrous Mode." It can print high-quality Speed Benchy prints in 17 minutes, and its normal print speed is about five times faster than older print beds. While it's not the most economical printer, beginners can achieve excellent results with a little basic knowledge. For experienced printers, it offers all the advanced features you might need, making it a reliable machine for quickly achieving high-quality prints.
It offers everything you need for excellent, very fast printing, handling temperature-sensitive materials like ABS and ASA . It's one of the few "plug-and-play" 3D printers on the market with an assembly rate of up to 99.5%. You simply open the box, unpack the printer , and it can even be automatically calibrated.

If you're looking for a working machine that allows you to focus on creative or business aspects of 3D printing, then the P1S is the perfect choice! If you want to print rainbow colors, the optional Automatic Feed System (AMS) is a definite plus, something only Bambu Lab printers can do.
The latest update to Bambu Lab's software ecosystem means that printing can now be done directly on the machine via the company's smartphone app, without the need for a computer. In short, the whole process is incredibly convenient, making it the closest home appliance to a 3D printer.

Affordable entry-level option
BAMBU LAB A1 Mini

Fast speed, with automatic calibration function
High printing uniformity
+Direct drive
+Automatic bed leveling
+Low-cost AMS (optional)
Suitable for beginners
-AMS takes up a lot of space
The Bambu Lab A1 Mini, which uses linear guides, is small in size, measuring only 180 x 180 x 180 mm. But don't be fooled by its size—it comes equipped with a variety of intelligent features, including noise reduction technology, fully automatic calibration, and self-diagnostics, and it's also fast, delivering impressive print quality during testing.
If you want to squeeze as much printing capacity as possible into a small space (and on a tight budget), then Bambu Labs ' A1 Mini has you covered. It's a mini 3D printer with an optional "lightweight" AMS (Automated Material System), and it's the fastest slide machine Tom's Hardware has ever seen, almost as fast as Bambu's large Core XY machines.
While it offers great value for money, it does have its drawbacks. AII3DP found it to be less polished than other Bambu Lab products: the interface is a bit laggy, and there are some minor bugs in the user interface. However, overall, these flaws are minor, and considering the various features offered to save costs and improve quality of life, the machine is worth a try.
Compared to other Bambu Lab printers , the A1 Mini's printing capabilities are somewhat limited (more or less restricted to PLA , PETG , and TPU types). However, once compatible with Bambu Lab's AMS lite (a four-color filament system for multi-color and multi-material printing), the A1 Mini's field of view expands, enabling fast and clean printing. The A1 Mini can level its worktable and set its Z-height with the touch of a button.
The A1 Mini's AMS slightly compromises its compact footprint because it must be mounted next to the printer rather than on top, but it makes up for this inconvenience better than the full-size AMS. Its sensors can detect tangles, and each spool has a spindle that can accommodate irregularly shaped or cardboard spools.
In short, the A1 Mini is simple and easy to use. Building on this, Bambu Lab's newly released MakerWorld 3D model library enables one-click printing with the A1 Mini. Overall, the Bambu Lab A1 Mini is an ideal 3D printer for beginners.
