First 3D Technology Collaboration Between Hong Kong 3DMART and Hong Kong MIT
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), one of the most famous universities in the United States, is not only a world-class university but also known for its highly active entrepreneurial culture.
Among its many initiatives, the Maker Space established within the university plays a crucial role in supporting innovation and entrepreneurial activities.
In addition to its main campus in the US, a similar creative hub, the Innovation Node, has been established in Hong Kong.

This time, we will introduce an event called "MEMSI" which was held at the Maker Space of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Hong Kong.
- MEMSI is a two-week learning workshop where participants can learn by actually experiencing the entire process from product development to production.
- Innovators and entrepreneurs interested in early product development in hardware or software aim to understand the mechanisms of mass production in China through this program.
- Hong Kong 3DMART collaborated in the field of 3D printing technology for this innovative MEMSI program, supporting participants in prototyping using the Ultimaker 3 3D printer.
- By utilizing 3D printing technology, participants can materialize new product ideas and prototype and verify them in a short period.
Based on actual experience, the event organizers praised the
Ultimaker 3D printer
for its excellent print quality and stable operation.
Since complex adjustments are not frequently required during operation, it is an ideal device for participants to quickly learn and practice 3D printing technology in such short-term workshops.

At the end of the workshop, a product presentation event is held, where participants present the process of creating their products and their product features.
This provides an opportunity for participants to interact and generate new ideas and inspiration.
Hong Kong 3DMART is very pleased to have been able to provide knowledge of 3D printer technology in this activity.
Through 3D printing prototyping, participants were able to see their initial ideas in a concrete form, ultimately leading to the development of more complete products.
Additionally, through this collaboration, the staff of Hong Kong 3DMART also gained a lot of knowledge about product development and production processes.
This initiative was a very meaningful opportunity for 3D printing technology exchange.
