The Ultimaker Cura monitoring screen has been redesigned for better consistency with Cura Connect.

3MF file format

The "curaproject" augmentation program is no longer used; all Ultimaker Cura files can now be saved in 3MF format, making them more compatible with other 3D software .

New user experience

• File Menu: We have changed the format of the file menu; "Save" saves the file now, while "Export" saves the model as a different file format.

• New tool shortcuts: Shortcuts have been assigned for quick switching between pan (T), zoom (S), rotate (R), and mirror (M) tools.

• Open recent items: You can now find your most recent files and frequently used models in the "Open recent..." menu.

Material preferences: Materials can now be set to folders, so they can be quickly found in the material menu panel in the upper right corner.



• Monitoring Page: The monitoring page of Ultimaker Cura has been redesigned to be more consistent with the "Print Jobs" interface of Cura Connect; reducing the connection time of conversion and enhancing the internal control of Ultimaker Cura.



• Save Project: Saving projects eliminates the need for re-slicing, making it ideal for archives that require long-term slicing!

• Enhanced Slicing Function Improves Vertical Surface Processing: Automatically detects vertical surfaces and prints at different speeds, preventing printing from starting on overhanging areas. Printing different surfaces at different speeds provides higher quality and more consistent finished products.



• Minimum polygon perimeter: Slice layer polygons with a perimeter smaller than the set value will be filtered out. The smaller the value, the higher the resolution of the result, but the more time will be spent slicing. This setting is suitable for small-scale printing or SLA printers with a lot of detail.

• Set the density of the bottom support material. This setting allows you to increase or decrease the density of the bottom support material to adjust the adhesion to the heating plate and the overall strength.

• Additional infill construction surface: This adds extra vertical construction surface around the infill area, which helps support the top/bottom surface lines to reduce sagging. Reducing the top or bottom surface print allows you to achieve the same quality, but requires some additional material.

Using two materials that are not easy to adhere to in printing can lead to printing failure of the main body. Therefore, we reused the main body to generate a shell of one material and use it as an attachment space for the second material. After testing, it was found to be more robust and stable than before.



Multiple fills on the same drawing surface generate multiple fill lines, making the main body more robust.

Connecting fill polygons is similar to connecting fill lines; polygon supports on the same layer can now be connected together. This feature can be used in conjunction with "Multiple Fill" and "Extra Fill" to ensure a continuous pattern for any fill design.

• Fan speed coverage.
A new setting has been added under "Fan Speed ​​Override" in the "Support Settings" menu to modify the fan speed in the bridging area. This setting is only effective when using support materials .

• Minimum Wall Thickness: A new setting has been added to the "Shell" category to define the minimum value for the printed surface of a thin shell.

The direction of the support fill line can now be rotated to increase support functionality and reduce imperfections on the model. This setting can rotate existing patterns, such as triangle support fills.





New plug-in

• Cura Setup Guide: A detailed, searchable Cura index with images for reference.

The custom support tool stops automatically generating supports and allows you to manually add desired support sections by selecting specific areas.

• Quickly switch to automatic slicing: Add a toggle button to quickly enable/disable automatic slicing.

The version in the title bar is displayed in the application's title bar for quick reference.

• New preset files have been added to support external printers including TiZYX, Winbo, Tevo Tornado, Creality CR-10S, and Wanhao Duplicator. Settings for Deltacomb and Dacoma have also been updated.

Bug Fixes: To achieve better stability and performance, we have fixed various bugs in this release. This includes removing redundant M109 commands and unnecessary actions in GCODE, improving the number of extra surface builds, and the order in which models are printed, among other improvements.
