[3D Printing News] New tricks for year-end banquets and spring feasts, soaring to new heights to welcome the New Year!

Remember the "Kaohsiung Megaport Maker Festival" we shared before? Besides the water coaster making experience (further reading: Make water coasters on-site, free experience in Kaohsiung! ), the "Soaring into the Sky" competition game on stage was also a lot of fun for everyone; and this helicopter is useful as a prize draw and competition prop, I'll attach a link again at the end of the article!

This propeller helicopter can be completed in a single 3D print. It flies very smoothly using stick controls and can reach a height of nearly three stories in outdoor environments. Each part of this helicopter is an individual unit, so it must be printed separately. However, since the Prusa I3 MK3S has a printing area of up to 25 centimeters, all the parts can be arranged neatly and printed in one go.

After 3D printing , the assembly method is super simple. Just insert the propeller and the launcher lever. The two are linked by a gear structure. By quickly pulling out the lever, the propeller will take off with the airflow while spinning rapidly, which is similar to the Beyblade and bamboo copter from childhood.

In response to the large demand for the "Meigang Maker Festival", in addition to using the Prusa i3 MK3S 3D printer , the Ultimaker S3 was also used to complete the task within the time limit.

Both 3D printers can be used smoothly after printing is completed and the support is removed. The Prusa i3 MK3S , priced at less than 50,000 yuan, is definitely a high-value entry-level choice; the industrial-grade Ultimaker S3 has a dual printhead system, resulting in a smoother and more refined printed surface.

We printed multiple colors to identify whose helicopter flew the highest during the competition. Everyone pulled the stick frantically and quickly, and the strongest "Soaring to the Sky" helicopter would win the grand prize at the year-end party!

Perfect for outdoor spring outings, and auspiciously designed to welcome the New Year! Print out your own festive props – they're fun, exciting, and original!
