[3D Printing News] Ultimaker3's latest firmware version 4.3 has been released!
Upgrade Ultimaker 3 to firmware version 4.3 to get the latest features and a better Cura Connect experience.
The latest firmware version gives your hardware new, easy-to-use features, as well as better integration between Cura Connect and Ultimaker Cura.
● Use a wired USB mouse to control the Ultimaker 3 interface
● Pause, resume, and abort jobs directly from Cura Connect
● Monitor and control USB boot operations via Cura Connect
New embedded features
Connecting a mouse allows you to insert a wired USB mouse into the Ultimaker 3's USB slot, serving as an alternative to the buttons on the Ultimaker 3's front panel. Move the mouse in the X and Y directions to navigate the menus, then left-click to confirm your selection.
Inspired by our community, we added this feature to make it easier for users with disabilities to use, as they often have difficulty using the buttons on the Ultimaker 3 to precisely select settings.
New Cura Connect features
Expanded language support. With the help of our community, we have expanded Cura Connect's language support to include English, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Simplified Chinese, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Portuguese, Turkish, and Polish, making it easy for users worldwide to use. Cura Connect's display language is affected by your browser's language settings – to view it in a different language, simply change your browser's language.
The JavaScript bundle.js has been optimized. The size of bundle.js has been reduced, speeding up page load times on Cura Connect for a better user experience.
Material color and type. Jobs for universal material slicing can now be printed on any group printer with the appropriate material type, regardless of brand or color. This aligns better with the slicing behavior of Ultimaker Cura.
Pause, resume, and abort. Jobs can be paused, resumed, or aborted within Cura Connect, with remote user control provided.
Job management. Previously, only jobs submitted through Ultimaker Cura's "Print via Network" feature could be registered in the Cura Connect interface. This update allows jobs to be started via USB registration and reprinted after a failure, including the ability to view messages or pause.
Customize the confirmation dialog. Previous versions of Cura Connect used a default JavaScript dialog. The new version has replaced it with a new custom pop-up component that aligns the language, look, and feel with Ultimaker Cura for a better user experience.
Mobile view. The mobile view has been optimized for clear display on small screens.
Firmware version visibility. The firmware version of each printer in the group is now visible on the printer details page, providing users with a centralized overview of firmware updates.
Bug Fixes
● Updated tooltips to make messages clearer and fixed spelling errors.
● New rules have been implemented to prevent printers from being added to groups they already belong to.
● Fixes various issues that could lead to the group host being "stolen" and added to other groups.
● Fixed a bug where the "Move to Top" or "Override Configuration" option wouldn't work when restarting.
● Stop Microsoft Edge browser from formatting IP addresses as phone numbers
● Fixed a bug where starting Cura Connect would automatically restart the last object if the printer lost power while displaying the "Clear Print Platform" prompt.
Make the most of your Ultimaker 3
When your printer is connected to the network, you can easily update the firmware on Ultimaker 3.
Simply navigate to System > Maintenance > Update Firmware > Official Version, and then wait for the update process to complete.
If your Ultimaker 3 is not connected to the network, you can still use a USB to update the firmware to the latest version .
