The all-new Bambu Lab H2S is a machine that many 3D printing users have been eagerly awaiting – a single nozzle, a high-end Core XY printhead, and a larger print volume.
Its printing volume is enormous, with a 340 x 340 mm printing platform that can be described as "helmet-sized".
That's right, it's an H2D without the fancy dual-nozzle version.
It possesses all the second-generation technologies of its predecessors, such as servo motor extruders, advanced airflow systems, and AI detection throughout the entire filament path.

This unboxing is for the H2S Laser Combo, which comes with a 10W laser.
If you purchase the H2S without laser, you can upgrade to the laser version later, but you cannot upgrade to the dual-nozzle version.
Bambu Labs recommends that if you want a dual-nozzle system, you should buy the dual-nozzle H2D .

Unboxing
The Bambu Lab H2S package includes everything needed to install the printer, as well as some extra parts.
The printer comes pre-installed with a test model and a practical printout archive for making hand tools.
Includes blades and screws, and can be used to make DIY scrapers.
In addition, a paper-based introductory guide and instructions on how to use the slicer and mobile app are included.
The QER Code is printed on the inside cover of the packaging box; you can click to watch an unboxing video.
Of course, most importantly, there's the AMS 2 Pro and the 10W laser head and cutting blade.

Spacious and versatile
The H2S is a single-nozzle version of Bambu Lab's superior H2D 3D printer.
It is a fully enclosed printer with an aluminum-steel chassis and a plastic casing.
It can withstand higher temperatures than the previous X1C, with nozzle temperatures up to 350°C and print bed temperatures up to 120°C.
The air filters have also been improved to reduce suspended particulate matter in the room air.
The best improvement in the H series is that it is equipped with an adaptive airflow function that can heat and cool the printing chamber simultaneously.
This means you can finally print not only PLA and other "low-temperature" consumables.
The H2S can be available in a laser version, which means that this printer has the same flame-retardant interior as the H2D.
While H2D's standout feature is its single-hot-end dual-nozzle design, this unique feature also takes up some print space.
The H2S makes full use of the 340 x 340 mm space, making it the largest print size machine Bambu Lab has ever manufactured.
Bambu Lab has adopted the A1 nozzle for the new H series, but the two are not exactly the same.
These nozzles are easier to replace because they are secured with clips and magnets. And all wiring remains on the tool head.
Fast and accurate
In testing, the H2S's speed was impressive; its printing speed was up to 30% faster than the X1C.
The maximum speed of the print head can reach 1000 mm/s, and the acceleration can reach 20,000 mm/s².
Therefore, although the acceleration is the same as the X1C, the printing speed is actually doubled, resulting in an actual speed increase of about 30%.
Like the H2D, the H2S's single nozzle can reach 350°C, making it ideal for printing engineering-grade materials such as ASA and nylon.
H2S is a completely closed environment that helps ensure optimal printing conditions for these materials, and the filtration function also helps remove any toxins from the materials during the printing process.

Bambu Lab equipped the H2S with a series of sensors that can detect printing errors and stop printing before problems occur.
Furthermore, when the materials run out and need to be replaced, the process of restarting printing is very accurate, and there is no need to worry about the frequent layer misalignment problem.
One of the highlights of this extruder is that it is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous servo motor, which can increase the extrusion force by 67% and make the extrusion process of the wire exceptionally smooth.
When comparing the printing results of H2D and H2S, there is essentially no difference.

Similar to the major new features of adding laser heads and cutting heads to the machine, H2S also offers the option of using a vision coding plate to correct for errors that have accumulated over time.
Especially if you are using it for professional product design or any work with strict dimensional requirements, be sure to use this function regularly. The vision encoder can be used for any printing that requires 50-micron precision.
Like the H2D printer, the H2S can also use AMS Pro 2.
AMS 2 Pro is fully compatible with the original AMS and AMS HT.
You can also connect multiple AMS modules together to expand the printing colors to more than 4 cable options.

Multifunctional production center
The H2S Laser Full Combo's 10W laser engraving head can easily handle most cutting and engraving tasks.
Thanks to the integrated air-assisted system, plywood or acrylic up to 5 mm thick can be cleanly and precisely cut, leaving sharp, clean edges without soot or scorching.
The top-down camera and real-time tracking function of the bird's-eye view camera can control the positioning accuracy within 0.3 mm, so the "print first, cut later" workflow can be perfectly integrated.
In addition, it is equipped with a protective shell, flame detection sensor and door opening stop device, which allows you to have a multi-functional production center - it is not just a 3D printer, but a machine that integrates printing/engraving/cutting/drawing.
