[3D Printing Applications] Snapmaker 2.0 Dual Printhead Arrives! Supports Multiple Materials, High-Quality 20mm³/s Flow Rate!
In September 2022, Snapmaker released the Snapmaker 2.0 dual-printer 3D printing module , which is great news for those who were using a single printer! Creativity will no longer be limited!
Supports more than 10 types of cables
Dual extrusion nozzles open up a whole new world! Exquisite printing quality, meticulous details. Objects combining PVA and TPU. Like a curious child exploring a brand new world!
Two independent nozzles can heat up to 300°C, allowing for the use of a wider range of materials. We all know how painful it is to remove support material! Don't let it ruin your experience. Simply insert a roll of water-soluble PVA filament, dissolve it in water, and you'll have a beautiful finished product. The same thing can even be done with HIPS and easy-to-remove support filaments , making the process much easier!
Additionally, the nozzle can be easily removed in 5 seconds, and engineering materials such as PA-CF and PA-GF can also be added to the software. Luban automatically recognizes the nozzle you are using and prepares the printing parameters for use.
Note: The Snapmaker 2.0 dual-head 3D printing module comes with a detachable 500g cable and a cable holder. Enjoy the fun of printing on multiple materials!

Perfect extrusion, flow rate of 20mm³/s, and high-quality printed objects.
Everyone is curious about the print quality after switching to a dual-extrusion printhead. This is related to the internal structure of the module, with a 7.5:1 planetary gear ratio that transmits power from the motor with greater torque. This allows for the use of a relatively smaller motor to achieve the required pulling force. By eliminating unnecessary weight, the amount of movement of the printhead under the same acceleration is reduced, thus maintaining the same printing accuracy as a single-printhead module.
Four-fan cooling system for radiators and prints
Besides removing the support, the second pain point is picking out the stray wires from the stuck nozzles. Each hot end has a dedicated fan that blows the necessary air from the blower to prevent the wires from melting prematurely in the heatsink. Another set of fans, located on the right and left sides of the bottom, keeps the nozzles and the printed object cool. Therefore, whether printing a suspended object or ABS, PA, etc., you can adjust the fan speed yourself.

3s electronically driven hot end switch
On other dual-extrusion printers, switching can be time-consuming. How does Snapmaker achieve two printheads on a single module? Initially, the entire module was lifted and bumped against a lever to remove the printhead. However, this produced noise each time the printhead needed to be switched to another, resulting in a poor user experience. Therefore, an effective method is to use a motor for switching. When your G-code tells the motor to replace the hot end, the motor will request the linear track to perform the rework. After the printhead is replaced, the printing process can continue. This can be completed in under 3 seconds with a repeatability of 0.012mm.
Compatibility of various nozzle sizes
To achieve faster printing speeds, you can adjust the printhead size on your Luban printer. Printing outer casings at a lower speed with a 0.2mm printhead results in a robust finish and excellent appearance. Printing fillers with 0.6mm or 0.8mm printheads will be significantly faster. The touchscreen also allows you to further adjust parameters such as print speed, temperature, and flow rate during the printing process.
Automatic leveling
If you lose the calibration card, don't worry. On your heated platform, the sensor module automatically acquires data for each positioning point from the first to the last. There's no need to worry about Z-axis height calibration; the photoelectric switch will handle that. The Snapmaker 2.0 dual-nozzle 3D printing module features both proximity switches and photoelectric switches. However, the photoelectric switch is only for Z-offset calibration. If the photoelectric switch is used for grid bed correction, the Snapmaker 2.0 platform will slightly deform after the printhead contacts the build plate, actually reducing the accuracy of the grid bed correction. The glass plate is only compatible with 2.0 when manually leveled.
Power outage and cable depletion recovery
The Snapmaker 2.0 dual-head 3D printing module supports recovery after power failure and when filament is depleted. Simply follow the touchscreen instructions to resume printing. If only one printhead is used, the working printhead will stop operating once filament is depleted, while the non-working printhead will not interrupt the machine. If two printheads are used, the machine will shut down once filament in one printhead is depleted.
