Since its launch in 2019, the EinStar Handheld 3D Full-Color Super-Fast Scanner has achieved great success in the entry-level 3D scanning market. However, we are always thinking about how to take a step further, improve scanning performance, and better meet our customers' needs. We are pleased to announce the major update to EXStar v1.2, which includes numerous new features at a more professional level. We hope this update serves as a powerful engine to guide you into an even more captivating world of 3D.

1. Lowered Recommended PC Specifications
EXStar v1.2 lowers the required PC specifications and maximizes computer resource utilization, resulting in more powerful data processing capabilities.

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX1050 or higher, dedicated GPU
VRAM: 6GB or more
Processor: i7-11800H or higher

4. More Powerful Functions
• Alignment Mode Combination
You can now set alignment modes with more flexibility. You can freely combine feature, texture, and marker alignment.

• Auto Cutting Plane
Automatically recognizes a cutting plane based on the desktop or a flat surface. Data below the cutting plane is not captured, reducing the time needed for post-processing and removing unwanted noise data.
• Point Distance Adjustment
You can freely adjust the point distance during scanning. Increasing the point distance reduces data volume, while decreasing it allows for capturing finer details.
• Marker / Point Cloud Editing
Markers and point clouds can now be edited individually.
• Scan Rewind
You can rewind scan history by up to 200 frames. If errors or alignment issues occur during scanning, there is no need to rescan everything from the beginning.
• Mesh Display Mode
You can select the display mode for scan models: Triangle, Wireframe, Point Cloud, or Triangle + Wireframe.
• Model Display
Automatically rotates the 3D model according to the current viewpoint. The rotation speed can be adjusted based on your needs.
• Object Mover Tool
Added a 3-axis object mover tool for high-precision alignment. By dragging the move tool, you can easily translate or rotate the model.
• Quick Alignment
You can align 3D models to the world coordinate system more easily. The coordinate system after alignment follows the Z-axis up, X-axis forward, and Y-axis right convention.
• Measurement Between Markers / Point Clouds
Measures the distance between global markers and point clouds, and allows saving the results locally.
• Shining 3D Digital Cloud
Upload scan data to the Shining 3D Digital Cloud and share it with other users. It also supports embedding 3D models in web pages. (New users receive 5GB of free cloud storage.)
• 3Dconnexion CadMouse
Compatible with 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse. Installing the 3DxWare software automatically enables shortcut key settings.
