II. Calibration Steps
The Shining 3D EinStar comes with a dedicated "calibration plate." Before starting a 3D scan , simply follow the software instructions to align the scanner frame and perform calibration to easily complete the system calibration. This is done in two steps: quick calibration, which requires capturing images from five different angles (up, forward, backward, left, and right); and white balance, which involves slowly and smoothly moving the scanning device up and down until the software indicates the appropriate height. At this height, the scanning device will automatically capture the image and complete the white balance calibration.



II. Start 3D Scan
The Shining 3D EinStar boasts an exceptionally large scanning area of ​​434 x 379 mm, enabling rapid and efficient scanning in a single session. For this scan of the Thanos glove, approximately 30cm tall, a turntable was recommended for free rotation of the model, capturing all details in just about 20 minutes. III. Software Operation
EXStar software boasts a visually intuitive and user-friendly interface, featuring a variety of advanced functions, guided scanning capabilities, and more, enabling easy acquisition of complete, high-quality point cloud data. After the calibration process, the scanning phase begins, offering both human and object-based scanning modes. Users can select the most suitable mode based on the current situation.


The device has a start/stop scanning button. The preview window shows a preview of the physical focus image, while the central area displays the real-time scanning image. The far left indicates the appropriate scanning distance range, the bottom indicates too close a distance, and the top indicates too far a distance. Try to keep the distance within the middle range.



After the scan is complete, use the built-in tools such as rectangle/polygon/lasso selection to delete unwanted areas. Then press Generate Point Cloud.

After confirming that there are no other unrelated objects in the scanned object, press the model envelope button. Select the fully enclosed model; the save output format can be PLY, OBJ, STL, or 3MF.
