RepRap
RepRap, short for "Replicating Rapid Prototyper," is a project proposed by Adrian Bowyer in 2004. Its core philosophy is to create "open-source 3D printers that can manufacture their own components," thereby reducing the cost of manufacturing tools, facilitating sharing, and making replication easier. RepRap was not only a crucial starting point for early desktop 3D printers but also drove the development of open-source hardware, the Maker community, and personal fabrication, continuing to have an immeasurable impact on today's 3D printing industry.
"Japan RepRap Festival 2026" inherited this open and community-oriented spirit of RepRap, held over two days, May 30-31, 2026, at the Tokyo Ryutsu Center (TRC). The venue featured over 140 booths, bringing together all peripheral technologies related to manufacturing, including DIY 3D printers, high-speed FFF equipment, various filaments and materials, 3D scanning, CAD software, AI modeling tools, CNC, and laser processing machines.
Unlike typical commercial exhibitions, the RepRap Festival is a "technology festival" where users, creators, and companies come together to discuss technology. Visitors can observe operating equipment up close, share printing know-how, and experience firsthand the potential of 3D printing in education, design, engineering, and small-batch production.

We showcased professional Stereolithography (SLA) technology, which boasts extremely stable performance in high-precision models, engineering materials, dental and medical aids, and product development. We proposed options for extremely smooth surface quality and highly reliable materials.
SHINING 3D
We demonstrated high-precision 3D scanning technology, a crucial bridge in the workflow from physical objects to digital models. This technology strongly supports reverse engineering, dimensional inspection, digital archiving, customized design, and subsequent remanufacturing.
Through this exhibition, 3DMart Japan aims to let more international users know about our comprehensive capabilities in 3D printing applications and integration services. 3D printers themselves are merely a "starting point." Bambu Lab | FDM 3D Printing Equipment
At this exhibition, 3DMart displayed multiple FDM 3D printers from Bambu Lab, one of the most attention-grabbing solutions for desktop and small-to-medium-sized operational environments. The display included the highly anticipated new model, the "X2D Combo," demonstrating its overwhelming speed, stability, and versatility.
Through live demonstrations of the equipment and exquisitely crafted sample prints, 3DMart's expert team explained the practical applicability of FDM technology in product design, engineering prototyping, educational settings, and small-batch manufacturing, and shared key considerations for selecting the optimal model based on customer needs.
Formlabs | SLA Stereolithography 3D Printing System
In the realm of high-precision and high-definition printing, the 3DMart booth showcased the latest SLA stereolithography 3D printers, including Formlabs' "Form 4." Through actual molded samples and explanations of advanced applications, we demonstrated the unique characteristics of SLA technology, such as smooth surface quality, reproducibility of fine structures, and excellent dimensional accuracy. The venue also provided detailed explanations of the differences between SLA and FDM technologies at the application level, offering guidance on selecting the appropriate manufacturing method for practical implementation, rather than just comparing their superiority.
Shining 3D | High-Precision 3D Scanning Solution
In addition to printing equipment, 3DMart also exhibited Shining 3D's high-precision 3D scanners, demonstrating the possibilities of object digitization, data capture, and subsequent operations. By clearly explaining the flow from scanning to printing, visitors experienced firsthand how 3D scanning plays a crucial role in reverse engineering, design changes, and manufacturing processes.
